Weird because they just traded away Duarte, the guy we wanted in a trade for Obi

  2. crazyandconfusedfan

Weird considering they signed his brother to a two-way contract but ok

“Breaking” news as if this hasn’t been talked about for 9 months

  4. ambitiontowin56

as much as I like the guy, it is long overdue to move either him or randle.

I’d do it for a future first. Gonna miss you Obi, victim of a bad circumstance.

Mitch + Obi for Myles Turner we’ll reluctantly accept it

Just do it already and quickly so it won’t hurt as bad. Just like a bandaid

I don’t believe any Knicks rumors come from the Knicks. That ship is locked up tight. This is Indy putting pressure on somebody else to make a deal they want.

Can someone explain Obi’s value to me? I haven’t watched a lot of games, I know he loves the Knicks and he hustles for rebounds and fast breaks thats it.

Phenominal fit next to Turner and with Haliburton. This will be a career move for Obi if it happens

Too late to trade Obi for Hali? /s

Hope it happens and he’s successful. Gives me a reason to watch Pacer games.

  14. Knicks are better drafting in the late first than in the lottery. Wish Obi nothing but the best

a shot in the dark says

    jalen smith for obi toppin

players who are horrible fits on their own team , but a decent fit if they were swapped.

Obi is very capable of being a pnr partner for Haliburton

as for Smith he is much more the kind of player Thibs wants , can block shots , very good rebounder and finisher , his jumpshot comes and goes as does his defense . but because he can defend the rim can find minutes at center.

Ugh. I get the situation but picturing him in a Pacers uni makes me sick.

I swear if we get a 2nd round pick for obi…..

  18. brianxhopkins

Never should have drafted him. You can say he never got a fair shot here, but we never should have drafted him.

Waste of a pick then and still is now.

I’d really prefer to not do this. Especially if we don’t have a backup for Randle. I know Randle has been an iron man, except for the ankle this season, but if he gets injured and we have a weak ass 4, that’s gonna be sad times. Obi has consistently stepped up as a starter and I wouldn’t downplay the insurance he provided just bc it hasn’t really been needed.

  20. Sucks if he gets traded. I loved the fact that there was someone on the Knicks that played above the rim.

It’s very possible to see likable players, leave your team and wish them nothing but luck and success… Unfortunately the business side of this league requires breakups now and then.. both sides should be rooting for one another in a case like this…

    I hope Obi blossoms

Frees up space for Hart at the 4 and would give DD the playing time that he wants while also retaining IQ. Smart move.

I love Obi. Wish there could be a way for him to thrive here but Randle has been too good and it leave no mins for Obi cause they both can pretty much only play PF.

  24. I’ll take Ben Mathurin for him straight up.
