Their decision to retain Moe Wagner though means most of the roster stays intact. That means Orlando is going to focus on internal growth and competition to spearhead improvement in a prove-it year for the team.

I like what the magic are doing
I love that they are keeping this young crew together to learn and Build together also.. i’m glad they didn’t trade anybody because that’s been our knock for years. We always let players go to other teams after developing with us so now we’re letting our team develop and stay together and all the championships can come to Orlando now.. another year under their belt. That’s more improvement. I’m finally being proud to be a magic fan now.. love the rebuilding we did and now we’re a playoff team and who knows where this team can go now.. 🏆🏆🏆🏆

Question is: Are we running back to mediocrity?
I don't want to question Weltman because he has done a lot of good. But look at what the Rockets are doing? They've added Dillion Brooks…Fred Van Fleet…Amen Thompson….and Cam Whitmire. And that's on top of thier young talent.
I just feel we can't keep adding a Joe Ingles and feeding the fans we got better. Maybe I'm overreacting but still.
Joe Totally deserves this contract and the Magic are gonna benefit so much from him. Way to go Weltman on another stelar offseason. Team has a modern feel and flare to it, while still maintaining Welt and Hammonds size and length with force multiplying capabilities.

Backup center is the one position you sorta kinda gotta role the dice on every year. Rarely do they change the landscape of a team. Not every team has a Naz Reid or Bobby Bortis. But orlando does have JI, Goga, Morizt and potentially Bol Bol. I think that will suffice. Would we like a more 'secure' name or option? sure, but again, I like what we have in house. the cup isn't bare
