There are always going to be loud assholes with bad takes on the internet. I don’t think wanting to get a fair return is the same as turning on Dame. He’s gonna be wearing someone else’s jersey when the season starts, but Scoot and Sharpe will still be Blazers and (most of us) will still be Blazers fans. It is not just okay, but actually the correct take, for us to hope Cronin brings back pieces that can help us in the next era. We love Dame, we wish him well, we will even root for his new team to win a chip, but we’re not doing that at the expense of the Blazers’ future.

IM SO SICK OF THIS ALREADY. PLEASE EXPEDITE THIS TRADE JOE. IM TRYNA ENJOY SCOOT AND SHARPE

  3. HerbieAlias

Blazers fan first no matter what, but everybody be prepared: this shit about to get ugly šŸ˜‚

  4. YoungAntiSocialite

Of course fans are going to be frustrated with dame pressuring his way to the organization with no assets.

Dame, you went business, so are we. Nothing personal. Donā€™t get your fee fees hurt.

  5. OldGarlic05

Curious if heā€™ll take the high road if he doesnā€™t get traded to Miami lol

This is definitely feels like a breakup. I canā€™t say Iā€™m mad at Dame for asking for a trade. He doesnā€™t have many prime years left and we know how much Dame loves the game, think itā€™s best to give him a chance and himself a chance to actually compete

  7. No_Information3972

This is so dumb, and Chad Doing is once again clueless and stirring the pot. Dame still has plenty of supporters and fans in Portland who totally understand where heā€™s coming from. Yes there is a small group of morons who like to shout from the rooftops, but I feel confident in saying that the majority of Blazer fans get it. So sick of the divisive crap. Dame is still my favorite player of all time, and I hold nothing against him. Blazers are in rebuild mode, and Dame deserves to be on a team with a chance for contention. Simple as that. Unfortunately we have mouthpieces in Portland like Chad, Dwight Jaynes, Fentress, and Jason Quick who like to rile folks up. Dame is an amazing person who has done a great deal for the community here, and he will always be loved.

ā€˜Loyaltyā€™, ā€˜running from the grindā€™. Best to Dame but if he didnā€™t preach these things over and over again, there wouldnā€™t be near as much hate, vitriol, towards him.

  9. iszcross

I would love to meet and tell him to his face what this fan is thinking.

  10. Iliketothrowaway2456

Itā€™s like Durant and others who comment on player movement and loyalty, just to force/try to force their way onto another team.

You have to be careful commenting on others.

And it doesnā€™t help that he goes on about loyalty and returning to the grind every season. I get wanting out knowing how management botched attempts/decided to go the other way, but you know your fans in Portland are going to take personal offense to it regardless. And get even angrier if you not only want to leave, but openly try to force your way onto another team, reducing what their favourite team can get back Lmaoo

Also seriously, it seems like Paul George is the only NBA player who knows how to ask discreetly for a trade. Did with the pacers (but the pacers leaked it themselves), then with the Thunder šŸ˜‚

Chad in Portland is a tool of the highest magnitude. Maybe he should go back to his shitty emails to the Rome show. Hey Chad in Portland, tell me about Ervin Johnson. Such an idiot.

  12. FullAutoLuxPosadism

I mean, based on Jason Quickā€™s report, yeah, he did mislead people and asked for a trade last year but tried to hide behind other people saying it.

  13. UPGRAY3DD

He’s doing the thing where people single out the extreme reaction and then react to it, which is a way to garner sympathy. It happens all the time on Twitter. Pretty evident that most unhappy fans are unhappy due to the specific trade demand to a team with bad assets, but he singles out the Dame-hater minority to respond to instead.

  14. alphashooterz

Born and raised in Oregon and the blazers are my team. With that said I have nothing but love for lillard and I was so happy he was on the blazers, but the organization hasnā€™t done right by him and Iā€™m surprised he has stayed as long as he has. Iā€™m incredibly sad to see him go but I get it. Iā€™m still a lillard fan and always will be, I own more than one pair of his shoes. I want to see him do great things.

  15. nikon73

I truly, honestly believe that the fine line between total support and turning on him *was demanding to go form a superteam*. That’s the difference. That’s why it’s happening.

  16. blowdarts69

I really wish Dame liked attention less.

  17. No-Particular8597

The part Iā€™m confused about is this. Does/did Dame prefer that the team makes deals at all costs just to bring in some vets? These are more than likely bad deals that theyā€™ve rejected. Paul George for Scoot? George canā€™t last a full season anymore and is prolly 4-5 years from being out of the league. Herro does little for me and the prospects of Heat draft picks after acquiring Dame prolly means those are end of the first rd. picks. I donā€™t really care what happens, stay or go, but being patient for a good deal, the right deal, seems very intelligent to me.

  18. Anim8nFool

I can’t blame him for wanting change, but I can blame him for tanking our ability to get top tier assets.

There’s also that whole “never gonna run from the grind” but trade me to last season’s Finals team thing that might qualify as “misleading” fans. Ever since that loss in the playoffs to Denver he’s been acting selfishly — which is fine, as long as you don’t act like you’ve been 100% committed to the franchise.

You’re now taking yourself out of the running for greatest Blazer ever, in my books.

  19. ohiathere

Dame was vocal about his boundaries and what he wants. The Blazers canā€™t offer that. Sometimes relationships need to end for both sides to grow.

  20. PSLFredux

I just can’t with Dame. His social game is so fucking cringe.

Dude has such a godlike image of himself it’s nauseating

  21. Saying you want to spend your whole career with one team, and saying how loyal you are to the franchise, and saying you want to retire a Blazer.

Then you ask to go to a better team just because your tired of losing… Yes yes you were misleading with your statements

  22. highway_vigilante

To be fair, I would put the fan base at 50/50.

  23. Scalmaa

Lmao hes only had one foot out the door for five years. Glad we donā€™t have to deal with his melodrama and will he wont he bullshit every summer anymore.

  24. Imagine being part of any professional organization and sending out a public message like this. Completely unprofessional. This is going to be a bad breakup and itā€™s not the Blazers org fault.
