We don’t need to get Tyler Hero. We need to see what we have with this group first before we start signing players to huge contracts , which I believe Troy is going to do next year.
Cade, Jade, and Jalen should be good if healthy.

I don't mind kicking the tire down the road but a lot of the top guy's in next years free agency class are signing extensions now. Lol well be in the same spot either over paying sub par guy's or trading for subpar guy's on expiring contracts.
Very fair broadcast. I'm usually very critical of your show. I would like to make a point or two. Yes, I do agree with you about Weaver this time. He over promised and under delivered about this off-season. I didn't like the Thompson pick. I hope I'm wrong. He was my least favorite of the players available at the 5th pick. Now about free agency or big trade I wanted Cam Johnson even if we had to over pay him for up to 120mil or structured a contract in the fashion that it would be costly for the Nets to match. Like offered him 110 pay him 30,30, 25, 25. Here is the reason the salary cap is going up 10% a year, so 30 mil next year is going to look cheap. Cade's extension doesn't go on the book for another 2 years. Also, Cam Johnson isn't what's going to put the Pistons over the top to make the playoffs. It's the development of Cade, Ivey, and Duren. Cam would be the 3rd or 4th guy in the puzzle and help with the development of the other guys. Even at 30mil per year for 4 years. 30 mil in a few years for your 3rd is relatively cheap. If the Pistons are going to be a consistent playoff team in the future, they will not be staying right around the cap space.

you guys focus on the $ too much it is the years on Grant that is the poison pill, kicking the can creates the same problem- overlap with Cade/Ivey/Duren extensions. You are getting into Extending Goff or paying Sewell/Amon Ra/Hutch/Etc territory. As far as Harris he plays the Position that our two other shooters(who share time with Ivey and Ausar) we need shooting at the 4
it is not Cam or bust FFS, you can go and get guys that fit the roster position wise not just skill wise that aren't 20mil. Jeff Green for a bag of donuts helps our young guys more than a deep depth guy that cost 20mil. There plenty of plays like that to make with our cap
These moves they made are ok,but we HAVE to trim this roster down. There's just simply not ENOUGH min for all these guys. Harris is a great shooter though, just wished we would of piscked up a sf

Did Troy tell Bogey we were making big moves next year before or AFTER Cade got hurt? If after, I can see why some folks are bummed. That said, I' m okay with giving this roster a minute to gel before shifting gears, especially with the new Coach.
Next year, Teams will be more desperate to shed players to get under the dreaded "apron" penalties from the new CBA.
The Pistons fanbase really has unrealistic expectations. Cam Johnson is a role player just like Monte Morris and Joe Harris. We added two of the most efficient players in the NBA and the fan base complains.
