This situation reminds me of my studies in martial arts particularly Lord Katsushuhe’s clan (1580-1657). Damian Lillard missed a golden opportunity to stay in Portland and illustrate himself as loyal to a fault. However, Lillard was fooled by social norms. Social norms say that winning a championship is paramount. However, that’s a mirage created by the status quo. Humanity lionizes the underdog. The one who kept fighting even though he knew he was outgunned. Lillard had an opportunity to act in that theater, because the NBA isn’t life or death, it’s a game. Sometimes in life it’s best not to make any sudden movements. Stay still and let others move. Now he’ll be remembered as a pariah that decided to use a cheat code.
