[Brian Windhorst] Philadelphia 76ers not interested in trading Tobias Harris

“They have not shown an interest in trading Tobias Harris,” said ESPN’s Brian Windhorst on a recent episode of his podcast. “Tobias Harris has been involved in some trade discussions, and they have not shown an interest in trading him.”

  1. That’s OK.

I’m expecting a huge improvement year. He’s just entering his prime and could easily be a 30PPG scorer this upcoming season. I also guarantee his play making dramatically improves as I’ve seen him passing the ball around on Instagram. There is a world where he average 6-8 assists a game along with those 30 points.

    Gotta keep our young talent.

Embiid will traded before tobias lol, why they dont trade tobias, 5 playoffs he is not good is not enough?

  3. nicktesluk

Idk if they actually will trade Tobi because they won’t just give him away, but has Morey ever traded some bigger name player where he didn’t put out that they aren’t available for trade or hasn’t initially asked for a bonkers haul in return?

  4. Prestigious-Rock201

Morey is lying his ass off with all of this. There’s no way, this isn’t him lmao

Not saying we shouldn’t trade him or if this is some bs negotiating tactic or not, but the value of an expiring contract is real and we all know it. Seems silly to just give it (the contract, not the player) away after bearing it for this long.

If it helps us land a star – great.

If it helps us land better fit pieces who are on truly great contracts- great.

If it helps us land better fit pieces also on expiring deals – even better.

If it helps us bring back an unfavorable multi year contract – it’s a fail.

Misdirection season is in full swing.

Anyone else just waiting for u/lardbiscuits to comment?

Depending on harden situation, may actually need his empty regular season stats at least until the deadline when teams want the expiring cap space – or until the deadline and we decide we want the expiring cap space cause the season was so far a failure – TBD

And I’m winning the mega millions tonight

This team’s era will be made into a comedy series on HBO within the next decade.

    Crumbl Fuck is an assassin.

Tobias without harden on the team would improve his trade value before the trade deadline. This is assuming we don’t trade harden for a star and harden sits out to begin the season

  12. BlackyChan20

Fully expecting Daryl to deal Harden then move his sights to breaking up tobis contract. 40 mil expiring is going to be much more valuable by the trade deadline than early July.

  13. EducationalStill3393

Can we fucking skip to trade deadline already?

  14. that’s it guys i’m sorry it’s the end of the road for me i can’t go on anymore

  15. SomeGuyNamedJohn12

That Assassin stays. He should bring a Crumble Cookie concession stand to the new Sixers arena in Chinatown.

  16. DannyDegenerate

Id honestly keep him and let him expire next year so we can have space to sign someone else. Rather than trade him.for some filler and tie up our cap for more years..

He’s literally been trying to trade Tobias since the day he took the job lmao

  19. SchwizzelKick66

Is there a chance that Morey actually values Tobias and thinks he’s a good player, and that he thinks Doc wasn’t utilizing him correctly? Could have been a reason he fired him.

I don’t think Tobias is as bad as his stats and play showed this past season. Doc had him standing in a corner the entire game. Trading him now and is absolute lowest value doesn’t seem smart either. Involve him more, her his value up and trade him as an expiring before the deadline?

  20. yabuslay

if they really don’t want to trade him or Maxey, they’re giving up on Embiid’s prime. this has to just be posturing otherwise they’re unserious.

  21. TempleofSpringSnow

I’ll be curious to see how this ages.

Committing auto erotic asphyxiation gotta feel happy one time before i go out

  23. 76ersPhan11

Classic Morey. Act like you’re not interested to up his value.

  24. jmak329

I mean just last Monday Windhorst was saying Harden was staying. He doesn’t know shit beyond being a propaganda talking piece for agents and GM’s these days.

  25. DOCTORFONASG

Tobias doesn’t have value until January-February. He was never gonna be traded during the summer.

  26. yungtrapfatgag

u/yungtrapfatgag not interested in watching the sixers this year

  27. AstroZombieInvader

Since it’s an expiring contract and not one of a lousy player or some old guy who is riding the bench (like how PJ will be in his final year) then I tend to believe it.

We’ll never get value in return. Just because Tobi isn’t worth his salary doesn’t mean he’s not valuable to us. And he’ll be even more valuable to us next year when he’s off our books.

  28. ProcessTrust856

They might value $40 million in cap space more than whatever crap player they could get for Tobi’s negative value. Especially if Harden is leaving.

Harden and Harris’s cap space, before the Maxey extension, gives us at least one max slot plus some additional room.
