The Los Angeles Lakers stood out in free agency by retaining D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, then added Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Jaxson Hayes and Cam Reddish. While many of Lakers (and basketball) fans are excited about the moves, Colin Cowherd is not sold on the purple and gold as championship contenders. Watch as he explains why the ‘basic moves’ are not something to celebrate heavy on. In the MLB, baseball fans are witnessing history in their eyes. Los Angeles Angeles Shohei Ohtani leads the league in home runs (31) and is 7-3 with a 3.02 ERA on the mound. Watch as Colin explains why Ohtani is the best baseball player of all-time and it is ‘not even close.’

Bo Jackson??
How does ohtani make his team better??/ never made the postseason
STOP THE HATE
Hope the Angels don't waste Ohtani like they did Trout.
He just sucked off Phoenix for signing worse players but downplaying the Lakers.
If you are interested in shohei Ohtani, I recommend reading his "9×9, 81-square strategic matrix" he wrote when he was 16 years old high school boy.
In it, he describes his own goals as a baseball player at the age of 16, the eight keywords for each of the eight challenges he faced, and the eight goals he had to overcome to achieve them.
In addition to specific issues to be solved to improve his pitching skills, the book also describes his mental strength, body building to become a professional, and human goals, as well as the specific solutions he came up with on his own plan.
Frankly, I am amazed that a 16-year-old boy thought of this on his own, and also amazed at the level of baseball education in Japan that allowed him to write this himself and actually made him put it into practice on his own.
And I am amazed that everything he says and does now as a major league player is connected to each element of this scenario.
Please read it once. Because you will see the real, true picture of Shohei.
He is blessed with natural qualities and DNA, but it was his own willpower to analyze himself, set his direction, and practice self-improvement that made him as the great player he is today.
Rather than marveling at him and evaluating him as good or bad, I think it is more important to understand the reality of what he has done and overcame himself to become the man he is today.
I believe that everything is not a coincidence and that there are reasons and causes for the facts that happened.
Maybe you can find out why he is not playing baseball for money and what his real goals are, who he is, after reading it.
There are three guarantees in life, death, taxes, and Colin hating on the lakers
Colin gets on my nerves
I remember how good Ohtani was his rookie year, but could never have imagined he would become the player he is now. Can't wait to see him in Dodger blue next season.
Ok Colin, Rob is sorry that he didnt make a big splash move to allow you media folks to have a topic to take turns running into the ground. Also in regards to DLo, the future of the backcourt isnt based around him, we have Reeves and Hood-Schifino getting developed. Jalen is 6-5 i believe and Reeves 6-5/6-6, pretty solid and tall backcourt
The signings keep them in contention – as they always would have been every year with health and competent roster management. Nearly every Pelinka move since trading for Westbrook has been making up for that mistake.
Colin has been riding the LA Lakers since he jumped to Fox. If this were Golden State or 10 other teams he likes, he'd be praising them. Instead, he's repeatedly slamming the Lakers players, their GM, and their front office. Ever wonder why you never ever see Colin at any Laker games?
Ohtani is specializing… in both pitching and hitting. It's like the 13 year old kid who graduates from college with two Master degrees. Specializing simply means becoming an expert in one field. He is a master in two fields.
I’d Say Simone Biles needs to be in the conversation for greatest Olympic athlete as well.
Ohtani doesn't need the esteem of North American baseball fans. He's already a demi-god in Japan and that's all he cares about. One World Series win and Ohtani is the greatest baseball player in history bar none.
I appreciate how you address the comments and questions from your viewers. It creates a sense of connection.
Ohtani is the best hitter in the whole league right now, while also being a top 5 pitcher at the same time
Reaves and Vincent were very high value deals. There’s a level between competency and being revolutionary and that’s what the Laker’s free agency has been.
It’s crazy I would have never thought of tuning into baseball ever until this Ohtani entered the picture
He started talking about basketball so much in the middle of the baseball segment that I literally forgot he was talking about Ohtani lmao
Soccer is about the next goal? Someone tell Cowherd to stop talking about that sport. 🙄
Eff the Lakers
Colin didn't know who Ohtani was until this morning.
