For someone who had an off game, I thought he flashed the same great PnR poise he showed in college along the crazy shooting at size. Near the end we really saw him get to the rhytnm and NSJ and Bouk are very bad decision makers. overall not bad at all

Oh look at that, he actually had a solid game. He was a tad over aggressive on D and committed some silly fouls, and overall I wish he was little more assertive on offense. But he flashed the shooting, handles and rebounding with this mess of roster we got out there.

Lol everyone clowning him in the first half

  3. aiden3buckets

Despite the slow start Miller looked really good

  4. AdulasMoonblade

Don’t think i’ve ever seen a post that only mentions 3FG and FT but not FG

  5. SunsCanucks

That last layup was nasty! Really started to cook in the 4th quarter.

  6. YizWasHere

Lol he hit one 3 and then just went from off night to not bad in 5 minutes. He showed some nice handles tonight and played well in transition with some one man breaks and long outlets, sucks that he doesn’t have a true PG to play off of.

The overreactions were stupid esp from Portland fans and Miller went “ I took it personally”

Just one year i would like our team to find the 4 year 5’11 point guard that every other summer league team has. Im tired of watching us have James Bouknight as the lead ball handler.

  9. ClashQuester

So many overreactions earlier, just let the kid play

  10. siphillis

Started to settle down in the second half and do what he does best, but he reaches A LOT on defense and absolutely needs a playmaker on the court with him.

I heard he was a bust 30 minutes ago

  12. Bakersfield_Buffalo

James Bouknight should not be on an nba roster

Looked good in that second half, will look even better when there’s a true point guard alongside him, not too concerned about the fouls. We should cut Kai Jones tho

I think, at the very least, he’s going to be a sharpshooter. He has such a nice, quick release. Definitely doesn’t seem very comfortable driving to the rim though.

He was also clearly nervous at the beginning of the game.

  15. Most of it in garbage time once a bunch of non-NBA players came in

  16. McJumbos

Kudos to him for bouncing back – nice resilience

  17. Played really well in the 4th, but I think the real problem is not having a PG on the summer league roster yet again

Meme accounts on twitter and ig can go to hell bro

Basically played without a front court and coming off of mono

He was also our best rebounder and had 2-3 blocks. Struggling to create his own offense was his main problem but he settled down and look great in the 2nd half.

If you ever want to know the importance of a good point guard just watch this game.

Tuned in to the fourth after seeing how many people were clowning him in the game thread…he looks fine? He finished strong.

Seems like everyone has decided this kid is the punching bag of the draft and I don’t really understand it. I get being disappointed if your a CHA fan who wanted Scoot, but you got to at least like some of what you see from Miller.

I think the big thing for him is going to be getting in the gym and getting stronger. He’s got thin legs and doesn’t have a great first step but I like the pace he plays with on drives. He’s got a little wiggle in his game when he puts it on the floor.

It’s going to take some time to see the finished product but Charlotte has time to wait.

One of these years the Hornets Summer League squad will have a real PG.

  23. WhenItsHalfPastFive

something worse than the usual overreaction and willingness to call someone a bust is the reverse reaction where everyone is suddenly a superfan of the player because “they are too hated”

    contrarians are the worst.

  24. PhreakOut4

Wait, am I just bad at math, or does 3 threes, 2 twos and 7 FTs add up to more than 18?

Edit: okay, boxscore says 5-7 fts, OP just got it wrong

Summer league is fun to watch but forming any judgment on how a player will perform based off stats is just dumb.

Like, the last 10 summer league MVPs have ZERO all-star game appearances between them for example.

Doesn’t mean it’s completely useless but you actually have to watch the games and see how players move, their feel for the game, etc. None of that stuff is on the stat sheet.

  26. sleep__walker

He was basically playing PF out there, on the Hornets he’s going to be a SG while he bulks up. Dudes more than fine

  27. Handyman2116

I’m getting Trae Young summer league flashbacks reading all these comments, and Trae was infinitely worse too

  28. spicyfartz4yaman

Would’ve swore bro was out there with -4 points the way the last thread was looking lol

  29. DoughRaymi

whats wrong with the stats, doesn’t that add up to 20

  30. durmduke

Kid had the jitters and still showed out. He’s going to be legit.
