I was adamant after the draft that without picks the Sixers had one of the better drafts because we got 2 guys who could have and were mocked to be going late first round early second, went undrafted and we signed them. Now we know why they said Terquavian Smith would have been a top-20 pick last year had he come out after his freshman year.
Terq is legit and I can tell that by watching how he set up defenders in advance both he and Jaden have a cerebral feel for the game and combine it with high athleticism. I knew Terq could score but I didn't realize how good of a passer he is I also loved some of the angles he was throwing those passes from.
And you can see the raw potential of Ricky Council with his traits and yet he still provides high-quality defense, and is surprisingly well-rounded on offense.
Jaden Springer has developed an offensive game, but it is as a slashing SG, not a PG. At least that is what it looked like when he won League Finals MVP he was unguardable bullying guards to the basket like Fultz does. When I saw NN was starting Jaden at PG and Terq at SG I thought to myself if he was simulating how he would use Harden and Maxey because both of those pairs are oddly the same exact size profile and play with similar pace.
It's almost like a function of having such a high-energy scoring guard you want your main lead guard to be more methodical and calculated to offset it.

Doc knew Jaden was an elite defender as well, the difference is Nick Nurse would have had the balls to put him in the game during game 7 to at least try and slow down Tatum.

@4:05 As nice as this play by Terq is, the way Filip handled that screen really pissd me off just randomly he's supposed to stay in front of GG but instead allows himself to just get straight pushed out the way enabling GG to almost make a play on the shot. That can't happen, stand there and if he barrels through you it's a foul and possibly a 4-point play.
DJ Steward looked like a nice 3&D guard
Backup SF could be flexible if they stand pat. Of course, we need to add Terrance Davis, Terrance Ross, or Kelly Oubre, BUT Terk could be very special this season.
Jaden is going to turn it out! I'm hoping Mac McClung gets to run also. People need to recognize he can do more than just sky and dunk the ball.
How about the rest of the Sixers learn how to defend as well as Springer! Tired of people acting like a extraordinary defensive player isn't worthy of being in the league. Or if the player isn't 40% three point shooter they can't be on this team. Leave Jaden alone. He's an exciting player and if he doesn't do anything but dunk on offense that's fine. We missed Matisse big time! Whether you own up to it or not. Now y'all gonna do the same ignorant ranting about Springer.

I'm trying to figure out how to make Smith a more efficient shooter but he looks the part.
RB as far as McDaniels the Sixers should be able to draft another guy in the second round with his skill set..
