Warriors related/non-related non-news news: Georgios Papagiannis (26yo, 7’2″) is currently working out in San Francisco. Warriors recently worked out 6’9″ 3&D wing Louis Olinde

(Sorry I’ve posted these on Daily Discussion Thread occasionally so a few people might’ve already seen them, but added some new stuff. Plus, sorry for the grammer error if there are any mistakes)

##***Georgios Papagiannis is currently working out in San Francisco***

According to journalist Tolis Kotzias of Greek news outlet [SDNA](https://www.sdna.gr/mpasket/1094695_paei-stis-ipa-o-papagiannis-gia-eidiko-proponitiko-programma), Georgios Papagiannis (26yo, 7’2″) has been in the US and working out with multiple NBA teams. (His contract with Euroleague powerhouse Panathinaikos just ended after the season. He’s a FA.) He is currently in San Francisco waiting an offer per [Greek journalist VIoannou](https://twitter.com/VaggelisIoanno2/status/1675968815086071809). I think Warriors fans are familiar with **UPBasketball** Training facility, since it was (has been?) where Poole was working out during the off-season.

People might laugh at him but he has become a much better athlete/defender/floor-spacer compared to his NBA days, like 5 years ago. Just like Brook Lopez developed a 3-pt shot at age 28 (after his 8 NBA seasons), Papagiannis has finally developed a reliable 3-pt shot this year. (EuroLeague: 48.6% on 1.1 attempts per game/33 games, Greek Basket League: 56.7% on 1.4 attempts per game/21 games)

He currently plays/moves/shoots 3s like this: https://youtu.be/ev-Z4XumzWA

Also, according to the other Greek media SPORT24:

>On the table he has lucrative offers from Panathinaikos BC Athens for the renewal of the contract at 1.2 million € per season and from Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul at 1.6 million € per season.

Other info: Today is his birthday.

##***Warriors recently worked out 6’9″ 3&D wing Louis Olinde***

Source: [Donatas Urbonas aka Woj of EuroLeague](https://basketnews.com/news-191124-louis-olinde-works-out-for-three-nba-teams-and-secures-summer-league-spot.html)

>Some big EuroLeague teams are also interested in Olinde, but there is confidence in his camp that his next career destination will be the NBA.
>Olinde, who stands at 2.05 m tall (6’9″), showcased career-high numbers in every statistical category.
>In 27 EuroLeague games last season, he averaged 8.1 points (59.1% 2P, 39.1% 3P), 4.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals, and a performance index rating (PIR) of 10.0 in nearly 22 minutes per game.
>Olinde fits the profile of a modern 3-and-D player. He excels in isolation defense, allowing only 0.68 points per possession in EuroLeague. Offensively, he demonstrates effectiveness in off-ball situations, including cuts (1.4 points per possession) or catch-and-shoot scenarios (1.3 PPP).

* Age: 25
* Measurements: 6’9″ with a 7’1″ wingspan (already 6’9″ barefoot in 2018 NBA Global Camp)
* International Stats: [Basketball-Reference.com](https://www.basketball-reference.com/international/players/louis-olinde-1.html)
* **Video: [LOUIS OLINDE – Scouting Video 2023](https://youtu.be/hnZZCe88seg)**

His game looks perimeter oriented. (his perimeter defense/shot blocking/switching: [**5:10**](https://youtu.be/hnZZCe88seg?t=310) mark of the video)

Other info: A few days before free agency opened up, he decided to play for the Suns in the Summer League, maybe he was aiming for one of those roster spots which is now gone. He worked out for GSW/OKC/POR. Thunder’s roster spots were already filled up. Blazers are going into rebuild mode but they already have/will acquire via Dame trade/drafted a bunch of wings/forwards. If Warriors are somehow still interested in him, they might be in no rush mode now, I guess.

    Don’t know much about Papagiannis but just looking at his tape, wow is he nimble for his size. Probably better than anything we can get at this point. I’ll take him. SIGN HIM UP MIKE!!

    After watching 3 minutes of Euroleague highlights and 3 mins of Kings highlights, Papagiannis looks way more athletic then he used to be. Fuck it, why not?

    Papagiannis?

    Hey, Greek Freak, who’s your papa?

  5. Nessmuk58

    Papagiannis appears to have decent hands and a good stroke from three these days. Some post game as well, and although I imagine that will evaporate against legit NBA Centers, at least it’s a tool to use for mismatches. Apart from blocked shots, though, they never show much defense in highlight reels.

    Porzingis Lite?

    But I assume being over 6’9″ makes him Warriors-ineligible.

    If the Dubs arranged this workout, then I’m happy that **Mike D** and Co. are getting creative and exploring options outside of the league.

    Tbh if we get both or just one that’ll be good, tempted away from saric rn, but if my boi joe can open his pocket a lil we can get all 3 of them to fill 15 instead of 14. Both of them seem to have a chip on their shoulder with Olinde eager to earn a name for himself, he would go out there and try to win. Decent pickups, hopefully rumours are true
