Marcus Sasser ’22-23 Houston Highlights |#DetroitPistons add Shot-Creation & Two-Way Toughness!

We’ve been tracking Sasser since his freshman season at Houston and for GOOD REASON. It’s a rare few that make it out of the small guard archetype but Marcus Sasser certainly checks the boxes. Proven two-way competitor & WINNER. Hits 3s w/a quick trigger at an efficient clip-off the dribble or catch w/ range. Attacks L & R + operates in tight spaces. Strong & shifty w/ balance. BULLDOG.

Houston’s Marcus Sasser is unequivocally one of the top guards and overall two-way players in the Nation. Dynamic 6-foot-2 shot-creator with tremendous range and versatility as a scorer. Tight handle, high-level touch on floaters, and embraces physicality.

One aspect of Sasser’s game that sets him apart from others is his effectiveness as a defender in ball screens. Last season, opponents turned the ball over on 50% of possesions while only converting on 6/19 shot attempts vs. Sasser in the PnR. He utilizes terrific technique, strength, physicality, lateral quickness, and an unrelenting motor to be disruptive at the point of attack.

  1. I would love him in Miami only if we had a 2nd pick. We need another guard who can score beside Herro
