I believe Jaylen is staying and we’re (this includes JB) just waiting on other pieces to fall into place to nail out the finer details of the new deal. I also believe he deserves every penny/concession he and his team reasonably can negotiate for. Obviously that’s kind of a vague statement but I do think the front office and JB are fairly even on what they both think the contract should look like.
The only thing I learned from all the JB slander posts/comments since the playoffs was that the man would actually be justified in wanting out of Boston because he doesn’t get his just due.

He is but he’s not worth the supermax
He’s worthy but not “that” worthy.
It’s just Wyc’s money at this point. Even if he isn’t worthy , we need to keep him happy and make him stay here otherwise we won’t get any valuable assets should Brad trade him
Slander? If you’re a max guy you should expect criticism when you play below max standards. He deserves the max based on the NBA’s model and he is very talented but that doesn’t mean fans should just heap praise on him no matter what.
Anyone who says he’s not worth the contract at this point needs to just come back when regular season starts.
It’s been explained over and over why he should get the Super Max, it’s not just about the money.
I was going to say no before July but Desmond Bane and Lamelo just got 200 and 260 million so I’m gonna say yes now
I’d split the difference between max and super max with him. Give him an opt out at some point after year 3 or 4 maybe? So like a 5/275ish contract? Seems fair and beneficial to both player and team.
Yes, but Boston are still going to try to negotiate it down. They don’t necessarily need much: 275mill instead of 295 saves the team $4mill, enough for a small contract or two if they play their cards right.
Idk what Jaylen’s number is, but I’m sure he’ll consider even $275mill because it’d be the largest NBA contract out there, I’m pretty sure.
For sure. He got second team all nba.
Did he struggle in the playoffs? Sure. But against the warriors in the finals, he was far better than Tatum.
Why are we still talking about this?
