Disclaimer: I wanted Scoot.
I read about Brandon Miller's performance before I watched it on dvr this morning. When I first read about it, I damn near got sick to my stomach thinking about Scoot coming out and crushing his first game next week, and making the Hornets look like fools (again) while doing it.
It wasn't a great debut, but after I had the chance to watch the first half and third quarter (when Miller really sucked it up), I felt a little relief.
It was not a good game from Miller, but I didn't see anything catastrophic. I think he will come around and be playing really well at least by the latter part of the season.
He (like LaMelo) will be limited until they can gain some man strength and size, but I actually got a good feeling watching Miller play last night.
Thighten up the handle, hit the weights… he'll be alright, but I cant wait to watch Scoot!

Kai Jones is TRASH
Walker, your selective memory is killing me bruh. PJ was wildly inconsistent throughout these last two seasons. Could not be relied on outside of below average defense for the position. If his three was connecting at a higher clip, that's another thing. But he didn't. Finishes poorly at the basket cause of his size. I would like to keep him for what he is, a good bench piece. Nothing more.
Kai Jones was a disaster. With his size and athleticism you would hope him at least crashed the boards and altered shots but he did absolutely “nothing”. He looks like he forgot everything he learn in past few years. 😢
I really enjoyed nick smith I know he made a lot of mistakes especially early driving in traffic, but it was something about that energy he was showing you can tell he was just excited to be healthy! Second half I felt he got to his spots better then anyone on the court for us, the shot will fall with more reps

Mark has a nice midrange jump shot … all those long range snipers around him does he really need to be Embiid or Jokic… Besides legends like Sir Charles hate that stuff anyway where Embiid is shooting 3s instead of doing damage in the post

Well I guess I will point out the Elephant in the room. Our coaching staff are failing these young guys! Year after year , This staff has misjudged and mishandled our draft picks ( besides the generational talent we have in Melo) – we are wasting our draft capital. We are drafting players with no Short or long term goal on developing And maximizing there talent. Where is the adjustments, player development, and system. Last night our team had no flow, chemistry, or consistent strategy to maximize the skills of the players on the floor.

Hornets played like an AAU team.
Wasn't a bad game for Miller. It's summer league, everyone is playing to make the team besides him. What's good is that he showed he had the ability to make shots and drive to the basket. During the regular season, he should benefit from some many open looking and attacking the basket with strong close outs. It will be between him and Wemby for Rookie of the year.
I like Miller's game I wish him all the best for Hornets fans and the organization!

I tried to tell y’all he can’t handle the ball, if he don’t tighten up that handle this will look bad, idc if he puts on weight. If you can’t create in the nba ( especially being the 2nd overall pick) it’s going to be a disaster but I’ll wait and see till the season

Kai Jones does NOTHING good. Can't shoot a 5 footer, barely catches lobs, can't rebound, barely blocks, can't create a shot or pumpfake/spin to layup, has NO special move just untalented energy that gets open dunks
