Brooks was nowhere to be found in the playoffs which is maybe why Memphis didn’t care to resign him. The Rockets seem like they were the only team rumored to be interested in him which doesn’t say much.
Thanks for the content. But it's still a mystery why the Rockets paid 4 years $80M fully guaranteed. Who else was going to pay him that contract? Couldn't they have just paid him slightly above the MLE for 2 years (e.g. 2 years $32M). Also, I think we already had quality wings in KJ Martin and Tari Eason.

I think now people warmed up the him as a player, but it’s still that 4 yr. / $80 mill that’s still rubbing people the wrong way. I hope he lives up to that contract and maybe we will all stop being done disappointed after that.
I agree with you @Space, he definitely is misunderstood. He brings heart and competitivesnes to the team. The 2 most recent Dynasties , warriors and spurs , had a dillon brooks type player in Draymond and Bruce Bowen. Even Jordan recruited Rodman to the team. You need these type of players in the playoffs , last thing you want is the opposing team running up the score on you cause nobody wants to play defense.

As long as he plays his position offensively and doesn't think he's our Ja Morant I'm cool with this. I love KJ but Brooks his objectively better and he can hold it down until Cam or Tari is ready to take that swing position.
Dont like brooks as an opponent, but Im open to him with the team. Hopefully his Defense rubs off onnthe rest of the squad.

I like Dillion Brooks as a defender way back when he first started being a defensive pest like a Bruce Brown (Spurs). He is a stellar defender. What I didnt like is the antics, attitude….in this league there are 29 losers and 1 winner each year. Why amp up the opponent to energize them to crush you because of 1 guys comments. If he can keep his media presence professional/non-antagonistic, no groin shots….he will be a steal for this FA.
In a league where we get hurt more than ever, dont need cheap shots taken at players. This is also why I dont care for this stuff from Draymond. Ie stomping on Sabonis…come on…we dont need that bull in the league. As a defender both Draymond and Brooks at top tier, without the shenanigans.

Im a grizz fan and i always felt they were much better and way more energized when brooks was on the floor. Many times the opposing team had all the momentum and then brooks would come back in and start getting hella steals and helping them string together multiple stops. He also hits way more shots in the clutch ive noticed so u can count on him to hit big shots late in the game no problem.
If I were to guess why the shenanigans are done by these guys, its because its not sexy like dropping 3s, dunking on fools KJ style or blocking shots like Hakeem. This is a type of defense that goes widely unnoticed by fans but now in the age of metrics, its actually seen as valuable (by coaches/GMs) not so much the fans.
I personally love all the signings we made. We got a really good squad with a really good coach
I honestly like the Brooks signing. I felt like our guys looked good on defense. Like we could be a Top10 Defensive Team soon. We just need a guy like Brooks to really get into people and hustle to bring that energy into the team so they can stop getting lazy on defense. Having Brooks charge up the starters with Uncle Jeff helping Tari charge up a strong secondary with high defensive upside. Then we got Fred for offense with Amen being our secondary PG. We will have our young guys learning from veterans and this time it’s in a way that will mesh the team. I am really excited for the new season

Fans from opposing teams have to act like we made a mistake financially and in reality they just never liked our organization.
Tari n Jabari probably the first the most capable of reachin something like Brooks level of defense. Trust their defense abilty most out the young guys.
