“… easier to play with Embiid and Harden than Max Strus and Gabe Vincent.”

One could make the argument that Herro has a much easier time playing with Butler and Adebayo than Maxey has playing with PJ Tucker and Tobi Two Points and it’d be just as true.

Our sub can be as insane at times, it’s their corner of the internet to be homers, so who cares?

Sure they’re objectively wrong, delusional, and potentially racist, but like I said, it’s their spot. I’ve seen much worse takes on our own sub

  3. jloops03

Maxey is objectively better but I do think the view of him will change once he’s on his second contract.

  4. I’ma just copy/paste a comment I had in another thread

    >See I’m the opposite. I have no idea how people think Herro and Maxey should have equal value.

    >Maxey is younger, more efficient, and much more athletic. Maxey has shot above Herro’s career high from 3 for two seasons in a row now. If you want to exclude 3 point shooting, Maxey’s career low 2P% is 51.2%. That would be Herro’s career high.

    >Maxey is already better than Herro is while being a year younger.

And that’s not even mentioning their contracts. Maxey is just straight up better than Herro at everything. And if someone wants to argue that’s because Herro is creating his own shot –

Maxey averaged 1.3 ISO’s per game for .89 points per possession. Herro averaged only 1.2 ISO’s per game for only .65 PPP. Herro averaged 4.2 FGA off catch and shoot, while Maxey only averaged only 3.6.

So Maxey is better, younger, and cheaper. Anyone who thinks they are the same doesn’t understand basketball

They desperately want Dame and now are about to irrationally “hate” Tyrese because Portland (according to unconfirmed reports) doesn’t want Herro.

I feel like you should be using dark mode.

  7. modifyeight

it’s really funny seeing dummies comment like we the fans personally took a democratic and legally binding vote on whether or not tyrese maxey is untouchable like it’s not just daryl morey with two unlabeled columns of names in his personal diary

  8. mcy33zy

Maxey is still under-rated, especially outside this fanbase. His intangibles put him in a class above Tyler Hero.

  9. TIandCAS

Maxey is on a much better contract, is much quicker than Herro, is much more efficient than Herro, arguably has a lesser role in terms of scorer on the Sixers but still scored the same amount of points, and has shown a great increase in production every year he’s played. But yes they’re definitely the same player and Herro is getting shit because he’s white.

  10. BalloonShip

At this point, Maxey has more upside. But I also agree that it’s weird to think Herro is a totally unacceptable choice because “Portland doesn’t need guards,” but Maxey is not. Herro is also a very good player, who still might improve some, though not as much as I think Maxey could.

  11. Dommohh

You put maxey on the heat and he averages 23-24 ppg last year, also he’s a better shooter with a higher ceiling as a player

  12. KeyboardCarpenter

Maxeys the better player and have more potential, therefore a more valuable asset. Idk what this guy is talking about people thinking Herro is a negative asset. Nobody thinks that. But he’s pretty clearly a less valuable one.

  13. Bwoodndahood

There’s a reason why Maxey was a starter sooner than Herro

  14. cantwifeahoe

Intangibles and progression. Herro is the same player he was as a rookie, just with a green light now

  15. Herro is what Maxey’s detractors say Maxey is.

  16. PrimasChickenTacos

Guys, you’re waaay underestimating “Heat Culture.” /s

  17. Wade856

More Sixers slander. Herro is a nice player but Maxey is a true 3 level offensive scoring threat, one of the fastest players with the ball and lethal both from deep AND at the rim. Plus, he has no ego and is very coachable. That’s why everyone wants him and that’s why the Sixers don’t want to move him. His timeline matches with a post Embiid era.

  18. Thegrandmistressofoz

Maxey is better but this heavy perception skew is solely because he’s on a rookie contract to Tyler’s big deal.

If Tyrese commands $200M like the earlier reports, the narrative definitely flips. If his deal is closer to Herro’s he’s undoubtedly better trade value, but he could get $10M+ more annually
