A lowlight from last season. Fred told Scottie and Gary to keep putting up shots (rather than what they were currently doing). Looks like the two ignored him, and Thad came to help. There was a jomboy lip reading video that highlighted what Thad said. Short summary of that – Thad just told Scottie he’s trying to get him on track, with Scottie replying, who said I wasn’t on track?

Regardless of who’s side you’re on, this was a clear example of the vibes being off. Combine this with the body language we saw throughout the year (like the clip of Gary walking away from a Fred logo heave), and it’s pretty evident that things weren’t going swimmingly. It’s not uncommon for teams to have quarrels, but it feels like maybe it’s for the best that Fred left. Maybe he didn’t have the right voice or wasn’t respected enough in the locker room. Hopefully the young guys and vets get along next season. It’ll be nice to have a new voice (like Darko and whoever else steps up)

It’s easy to put the blame on Fred but looks like he wanted everyone to step up.

Maybe his approach wasnt received as well but the intent was good. With proper backing from the coach, this could’ve worked out.

OG just standing there watching it all unfold is hilarious lol

This just makes me appreciate Thad, Scottie could’ve responded to that better even if it’s a small moment

There was clear friction between scottie and fvv

But I believe scottie still respects thad. You have to remember thad when he came.in was mentoring scottie and precious. There’s a reason why ujiri kept his team option

Where were the coaches during all this? Surely this is something they should control

  7. pallychoo

From this video, Scottie could have handled it better

Can’t y’all see they were frustrated with fvv … y’all aren’t or never been athletes at any level if you can’t see that Fred was a problem. If Lowry treated Fred like this you will never see this guy get what he got. He never gave back to the younger

Fred did a lot of things wrong this year but this wasn’t one of them.

Scottie really in the wrong here.

I just don’t want us to become Houston Rockets.

Fred and Ime going to knock some sense into some of those young Rockets. They might not win many games immediately but he’ll be a huge positive culture changer.

No comment on Brooks that guy is cheeks

Unnecessary and not professional to even do this in public

And also why does he need to train right at that moment?

All their work is done behind the scenes no reason to create a negative environment by showing frustration at someone on the court in front of fans

Scottie also should not show frustration but doing the “do what we tell you” schtick in front of a crowd is also not right

Feel like Fred’s play has a lot to do with it, these guys are all competitors, it’s hard for young guys to take advice from vets who are shooting low percentages and making selfish plays like Fred, if Freds play was different/better I feel like it’s harder for Gary and Scottie to go back at him like that, hard to respect advice from someone who jacks 35 footers out of no where, but obviously none of us truly know

Seems Scottie has some growing up to do. Harmless antics I’ve seen from him (you’re not him) but obviously clashing with vets about preparation as well. It’s not a good sign.

Who got into Fred’s face when he was taking terrible hero ball shots at the end of countless games?

I’m not excusing Scotties body language all year. It was terrible.

Damn first time I’m seeing the first part with Fred – seems like Scottie 100% doesn’t wanna hear shit from Fred lol he doesn’t even give him respect by turning his entire body away like fuck off energy. Gary meanwhile runs to get a ball shortly after to avoid any more problems and then Thad has to be the second adult telling Scottie he’s gotta put his ego aside and listen to the vets lol

Nurse did once say in an interview that Scottie had some “superstar/Hollywood attitude” and I can see it too. Scottie definitely immature sometimes too.

This was the low point of the season, damn you could tell the vibes where super off at this point

Maybe the rookie of the year grows in Scottie mind . This is the difference between an all star and a wannabe who faded eventually. Guess Scottie is going the faded away direction. With all the love shower on him, he might feel he is the special one. Time to whack some sense to him. He’s just another Ben Simmons who is not improving after hitting ROY

I remember this vividly. I’m starting to think the reporters knew about all of this but were…idk afraid of losing their press access so never brought it up. The only question they asked after this was what was said between Scottie and Thad. And Scottie said it was a disagreement but that Thad is his big bro or something.

Nothing about the young guys being dickheads and clashing with the leader of the team, or a rift forming in the locker room that was causing their abysmal on court play. Such shit reporters

  20. Scottie ending up putting up better numbers than both of them this game and they were up at halftime when this argument occurred. Could everyone have handled it better? Sure, but it’s clear from many examples Fred was an issue this year behind closed doors with more people than Scottie. Gary didn’t seem to enjoy him hijacking the offense as well and OG wanting more touches can be construed as Fred’s getting too many. My main argument is where was this energy when they actually needed it in those many games they shit the bed? All this arguing when they were actually doing well and all those games where they just sat there getting their shit kicked in and nothing lol. That’s why I couldn’t take Fred or Thad seriously.
