So far, the only missed asset in this trade (depending on your Tre feelings) is Gallinari. I believe he was close to being traded to Miami but they couldn’t get the extension worked out. I loved Gallo’s time on the Thunder but from a strict “what could we get” perspective this is the only leave for nothing asset of the rebuild. Presti is second to none on squeezing every bit of value.

I loved the trade at the time, and it looks even better now.

Absolutely incredible results from that trade. I love PG13, but the Clippers ‘win now’ did not. If we had only gotten SGA, it would have been worth it.
Now it’s questionable whether George will ever have another healthy and fully productive year, and we have a good present and a bright future.

I remember at first feeling like PG was a snake 2.0 as we JUST signed the man the prior year! The moment though the insider news broke that Kawhi basically dropped his nuts on Ballmer’s desk and went “….I want PG if I come here” it truly turned the narrative from “damn, PG was slimy as fuck” to “….I’d did the same thing” as PG, like many of these young men, just wanted to go back “home”. Russell just couldn’t keep him. That’s how it goes, sadly.

I remember seeing clips of how SGA almost beat the Warriors as the 8 seed and getting hyped. I feel like this overall:

The PG trade from Indy was basically Victor + Sabonnis. Sabonnis is truly a man I wish we’d kept, and he’s shown to be an all star in his own damn right. Nonetheless, it was vital to trade him for PG (Victor was filler, respectfully).

The PG trade to the Clippers was SGA, an expiring Gallo who stuck around because CP3 was willing us to the playoffs, and the infamous shitload of picks. If the picks never existed, last year would have been the first year I could proclaim that dammit, we truly were equal in this trade.

The picks being included have been like discovering a bitcoin wallet on a computer that someone traded with you, and that wallet hitting big years later.

Alll the while, PG has never dumped on OKC, which as a fan made it even more worthwhile, as that shit matters.

    I love it

I hate the 4th of July now (even though this turned out better than 2016’s)
