Mavericks Free Agency News: NBA Insider Chris Haynes reports that RFA Matisse Thybulle intends to sign a contract offer sheet with the Dallas Mavericks. Restricted free agents, like Thybulle, can’t officially sign offer sheets until 12p ET on Thursday, July 6th, so once Thybulle officially signs the Portland Trail Blazers will have 24 hours to match the offer and retain him or let him go. How much will the Mavs offer Thybulle per year? Dallas still has its full $12.4 MLE to offer, but it’s unclear if Thybulle would fetch that much.

Matisse Thybulle could be the newest member of the Dallas Mavericks as he’s slated to sign a contract offer with the Mavs in 2023 NBA Free Agency. The Portland Trail Blazers could retain Thybulle by matching the offer sheet as he is a restricted free agent. The Mavs need more defense around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving and Thybulle is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA.

I would go Luka, Kyrie, Thybulle, Omax and whatever center. We have by the end as the starters.

Tbh i would rather have grant Williams. Do the mavs know he's not gonna be available cause from what I have heard he was their priority.
I like Thybulle but he is my 3rd option after PJ Washington and Grant Williams. I want a true 4. Great fit for Thy though. we don't need him to shoot but if he can, that's a plus.
This does not mean the mavs arent going for grant also
Why you guys have Holmes starting over Lively? Im pretty sure Lively is the best center on the roster at this moment especially defensively

Mavs would look like fools if Portland does match. They could have offered or even split their MLE to those non restricted who are better fit in the early stage of free agency.

Don't get cute with it… give him the full MLE. If we give him an offer that is "fair" the Blazers will just match. You have to overpay to get restricted free agents and we desperately need what he's perhaps the best in the league at. We just came off a season where we were paying Dwight Powell $11m. I promise Thybulle would be worth $12m a year
This would be a strong move. Thybulle, Bullock & Green would be a strong wing presence. And I feel like his offense will improve with Luka & Kyrie able to give him good looks. But a really damn good defender. A little on the smaller side, was hoping for a BIG wing. But the dude does have damn near a 7 foot wingspan….so Dallas keeps adding length to this roster. Lively with like a 7'4 wingspan, Omax with a 7 foot wingspan and now Thybulle with his 6'11 wingspan.
And if they can somehow trade THJ, Holmes and/or McGee for a big (throw in the 2017 1st round pick too) for a big…this offseason would be a major success. Especially by being able to keep Green & Hardy.
Still not content with our roster, we need a center. And we need wings.

Uhhh, where is Curry on the "Mavs Current Roster"? Ya'll don't even have him in the Top 15? I feel like Seth Curry was a HUGE deal for the Mavs. He's an IMMENSE upgrade over THJ. I'm sure both are gonna put up shots where you're like "what were you thinking" but the difference is….Seth is actually gonna make considerably more of those shots than THJ.
Plus, with Seth being an active cutter and runner on several off-ball screens I can see Kyrie dropping bounce-pass dimes to Seth….something the Mavs have needed with Luka & Kyrie. They need more movement with Luka. For the past few years it's just been 3 or 4 spot-up shooters standing around while Luka works the pick n roll with Maxi or Powell.
