    I realize you chose a narrative you wanted to use as your foundation but you chose wrong because it's fatally flawed logic. Portland loses here no matter what. Your logic is all based on there being a huge market for Dame but there is not a huge market for Dame. He dropped a bomb on everything when he made it clear it's Miami or bust. This telecasts to everyone else hey man I don't want to play for you. And sure he's under contract and you can make him show up, he'll even go out on the court and play basketball. Is he going to play 50 million a year basketball? Is he going to play inspired basketball? Or is he going to play I'm held hostage Just good enough basketball? If you were a GM do you want a 50 plus million dollar a year player just going through the motions??? So sorry Charlie Portland loses here no matter what.

    Don't get me wrong. I do respect him but in this instance Woj is 100% in Portland's pocket. You probably shouldn't listen to anything he says because it's all tactics to raise Dame's value.

    I think there is some merit to players watching what Portland does tho.
    Dame is a perfect case study in commitment to a team, working hard to be your best, and leaving respectfully once your team decides to go another direction.
    He did exactly what every team and analyst asks players to do.
    If Portland screws him over and sends him to the Hornets or mf Rockets, I think that sends a very strong message to players that loyalty ain't worth shit and some teams just aren't worth your time or energy.

    Honestly still think the right coach and tram could grow ben simmons. When i considered who might be able to accomplish that spolstra is one of the names that came to mind, itd be curious to see what happens if this did come to be

    Yes it does make them disloyal. I think that player report matters . On Gil gave a perfect example of this when he described watching how knicks fans treat players. Yes an organization can do what they want and our entitled too , but let’s not pretend that Dame doesn’t deserve it, especially in this era of players leaving when the going gets tough. The blazers also being a small market NEEDS a good rep. If they don’t do something good for Dame, after all this failure in building a team around him, then toss him to wind, dame will be the last superstar they get for a LONG time
