Why the Orlando Magic are a Future NBA Dynasty!!

This video looks at the Orlando Magic and why they could be a future nba dynasty if their 2023 nba draft picks pan out with Anthony Black and Jett Howard to go with their core of Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner

  1. As soon as Kelle and Suggs weren’t mentioned I wasn’t interested. A dynasty is not immediately recognizable like it is with KC .

  2. Unless someone gets traded Or hurt I don’t see the rookies getting playing time everybody else is just better players right now our off-season as a whole has been disappointing

  3. I don't think you have the right read on Orlando's bench. I think Cole-AB-Jett are all playing the 1-3. Cole can play more off-ball on offense while on defense he can guard whoever AB isn't guarding. The word "positionless basketball" gets thrown around too much in the NBA but it applies with those 3 on the bench. They can fulfill their roles while all 3 of them are on the court together. I think Ingles/JI play the 4 and Mo Wagner plays the 5 (with JI getting spot minutes there when healthy).

We're still missing shooting a bit (unless we see the improvement from guys we want to see) and size, which is funny to say considering our starting front court of Franz-Paolo-Dell. That said, both Cole and Jalen were improving shooters in the back half of the year and the hope is that we see that improvement continue into this coming season. Franz and Dell are both respectable 3 point shooters. I think it's reasonable to expect improvement from almost all of them, including Paolo, from a shooting perspective. Even if it's small improvements. If Franz, Dell, and Cole all improved their 3P% by even just 1%, they'd be above average shooters in the league.

I think there's really only two complications with our roster. Those two complications are Jonathan Isaac and Gary Harris. If Isaac comes back healthy and Gary remains on the team, you'll probably only see one of the young guards really lose minutes. Whether it's Cole, Jett, or even AB, I don't know. If Gary remains on the roster he's too good of a 3&D player to not play (43% from 3 on 4.5 attempts last year, 6th in the entire league), and if JI comes back healthy and plays like he did in sparing minutes last year there's no way he won't see the floor either. In that case I could see a bench lineup of maybe AB-Gary-Jingles-JI-Mo Wagner, with Cole potentially being the odd man out (of the organization) and Jett having to earn his playing time as a late lottery rookie. That said, the JI thing is a huge variable and I suspect we're going into the season not really accounting for him. Bench lineup is likely AB-Cole-Gary-Jingles-Mo Wagner with some sparing minutes for Jett and JI.

That cluster is exactly why Orlando fans left the draft unhappy. It's not about the picks, it's about the vision of the roster. I think everyone, Magic and non-Magic fans alike, are confused as to what we'll do and how things will look on opening night. That's half the fun of it though, and we've got more faith in our coaching staff and front office to figure it out than we've had since the mid-late 2000's. This is the most light we've been able to see at the end of the tunnel since the Dwight days.

Our roster when healthy was above a .500 team and would have been playoff-bound over an 82 game season, with expected improvement I don't see how we're not at least in the play-ins next year, possibly even straight to the playoffs. End of rant lol

  4. The floor for Orlando this year is Playoffs or Play-in, anything less I think would be a failure for them as a team. I also think that Cole Anthony might be the odd-man out and could end up being traded at the All Star break, unless he accepts a 14 to 17 million dollar contract, which could still be a future trade asset down the road.

Joe Ingles is a nice veteran presence off the bench, but the real value of him is that his second year is a team option. He becomes a valuable piece in a trade to a team who is looking to move a player. Combined with Cole, Gary Harris and their future picks, they could have the framework of a decent trade package.

Also, if Suggs isn't starting for Orlando, I'd be greatly disappointed.

  5. I hope they keep Cole Anthony
And i hate that Bol got waived

But all that means is the Magic have talent very deep.. going to be a great season next year

And Kai Sotto is 7-3 i say they develop him into a good athletic center for the future

  6. Ingles is exactly who we jeed, veteran presence who wont take up playing time .

  7. We need more help, I like your starting line up idea. But I want Orlando to go for a veteran guard or center someone like Dame, Demar Derozan, Lavine, Kahwi, Paul George or big men like Karl Anthony Towns , Zion Williamson, deandre ayton … I thought we would have made a move like that in the draft but i was wrong. But it’s all good let’s go Magic

  8. Appreciate the coverage! I feel like Bitadze will be bench center and Isaac bench 3 but great vid!
