God damn Brian loves his future pics and swaps. This seems like a solid move If it was just for cap space.

  2. wanderinglittlehuman

That swap is gonna be juicy

  3. I’m cool with this. No protections on the swap is huge and we get another bench shooter

  4. CoalTownHero

Unprotected pick swap could be interesting. You have no idea what the mavs look like in 7 years

  5. Hungry-Raisin-5328

is that a 2nd round pick swap? assuming since the celtics only got 2nds…

  6. MagicMer4042

Wonder if bullock can be flipped for more or do they wanna keep him for shooting

  7. Zeee-Jay

Bet that pick swap gets flipped by 2024. It’s probably the most valuable part of this trade.

Also for what it’s worth, bullock might actually get some minutes if not cut. He is a solid defender and gave Dallas 30 mpg last year hitting 38% of his 5 3pa a game.

Not an amazing player but a solid 3d wing similar to Cedi Osman in potential usefulness.

That’s an insane trade. Dallas could be looking pretty suspect by then and its unprotected

Not to mention Bullock is a decent rotation player who can be flipped and expires next year even if he’s bad

So by my count that’s now…17 players under contract BEFORE Cissoko has signed a deal, yeah? Three two-way slots for Barlow, Rice, and Bediako. A couple of guys are getting cut or traded. They have like 8 guys that are small wings.

  11. Frustratedtx

The Spurs have a huge roster at the moment and now I’m worried we won’t have space for Barlow…

We also have a top pick protected pick swap boston in 2028. But tatum will be in his prime that year so it’s probably not gonna be a lotto pick

Lmao I’m watching the summer league charlotte game and i hear grants been tradded I’m like wait what, go onto my phone to find out we’re involved in this trade

  14. radicalcamel

Just heard it’s an unprotected first, Mr Wright does it again

  15. tnarref

This might be a high lottery pick coming in after Wemby’s seventh season, when he’ll have 2 years left on his contract if all goes well and he gets a 5 years extension. It could end up being a huge asset that makes a real difference.

If I’m reading Spotrac correctly, with this trade the Spurs are now over the salary cap floor by around 7 million.

Now all that there is left to do is probably sign both Barlow and Cissoko to their respective deals.

It’s 2030, Spurs just came off another championship with Wemby and Luka, now have a lottery pick from the Mavs

Love this. A high character, high quality 3&D guy on an expiring deal, and you get a future unprotected 1st? Even if you had to part with some 2nd round picks to get it done, this is another savvy move by Wright.

Wow – this is brilliant work. We have so many second rounders that they are essentially valueless to us directly, but we just turned some cap space and some picks into a 2030 unprotected swap.

We have a top 6 protected next year, and an unprotected pick or option every other year for the next 6 years. That’s unreal.
