76ers explore options around James Harden, Joel Embiid, Heat is all in on Damian Lillard | THE HERD

Ric Bucher joins the show to talk the latest NBA news, including the trade rumors surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers. James Harden has requested yet another trade, and Bucher tells J-Mac whether he believes Joel Embiid should attempt to get traded out of Philly as well, or if the 76ers should be focused on building the talent around their MVP. Plus, Bucher lays out what the Miami Heat are willing to offer for Damian Lillard, and whether the Los Angeles Lakers’ offseason moves makes them formidable in the West.

  1. Anybody that says “I’m not gonna doubt the king” should not be on sports talk/radio shows. Period. He’s played 20 seasons and won 4 championships. He’s 39 and will never be as healthy as he was

  2. Can’t emphasize enough how bad J Mac is. He thinks the formula for a good host is to fire off outrageous hot take after outrageous hot take, and see what lands as he interviews respectable personalities who quickly shut down his BS

  3. 76ers need to move off of Joel and Harden. Their time has come and gone… Harden never progressed beyond the 6th man of the year role. He wasn't a leader in Houston, Brooklyn or Philly. He routinely shows up out of shape from the offseason. He just went to Vegas in the middle of the playoffs. He's not serious about winning. He's just out there playing pickup games and hitting the club.

  4. So got damn disrespectful…(two fossils in golden state). WTF?! TV guys with opinions and no experience. Are you fuxx'n serious?

  5. ❤it's pretty easy to see a three way trade between Miami, Philly and Portland…….the heat need another big to go along with bam if you have any chance of stopping joker….or at least slowing him down!

  6. Cmon dude, are you really suggesting trading the mvp for a bunch of draft picks? You really wanna trade the current mvp for kids that could be out of the league in a few yrs? This "luke warm take" is just dumb.😅

  7. I've been trying to give JMac a chance for months but I have difficulty watching him. He tries hard to be likable but he comes off inauthentic and argumentative. His substance is like arguing with someone at the barbershop when he interjects on Colin's take on the situation. It's awkward and it often even catches Colin off guard. It's almost like I have to watch Colin put him in his place. I respect that he really tries to hone his craft as an analyst, but I think he lacks self-awareness of how people see him. I haven't seen him adapt or incorporate feedback. I wonder if people are even giving him feedback at the network. You can clearly see the numbers for views whenever he's on the Volume or hosting the show. His number reflect his likability… or lack thereof. He probably appeals to a different demographic than the typical viewer of the Herd. I began watching this show because I see Colin as having an intelligent, unique perspective. I stopped watching people simply argue because they're passionate about a point or team. That's why I don't watch Stephen A or Skip Bayless anymore. I would rather have intelligent well thought out point that makes me look and think from a different, unique perspective. I really enjoy how Colin will link everyday life to sports. When there is someone going for a job interview, raising a kid, or experiencing life, Colin normalizes and draws viewers in with his takes. JMac is not the guy I would probably strike up a conversation with at a social event, at a water cooler, or at a sports venue. Just not an alpha. He can't help the way he looks or that he's a short guy that comes across like a barking Chihuahua desperately wanting to prove a point. I've been trying to be objective, but yes, I do have trouble trying to stomach his arguments, behavior, eye rolls when someone doesn't agree with him or see it from his perspective, or argumentative interruptions. I believe he thinks he's trying to create controversy but he does it in a way that is cringe-worthy. Just not good. I refuse to watch any segment he will host moving forward. Just not good. I wish him the best… just not on this show! Frustrating.

  8. J Mac is actually holding this down in an interesting way. Didnt expect it would be engaging.
