This dude is not who I thought he was.

Snake move at every turn now

  2. GuyIncognito211

Dame not coming out of this off season looking all that great tbh

  3. Scalmaa

Aldridge had a better exit think about it

  4. toadtruck

Dame gave his agent the green light to go scorched earth. Casual Blazer fans will love him forever, hardcore ones will not. Just like Clyde

  5. joeiscool101

At this rate I’d love to see the blazers drag this out to the trade deadline. We’re in no rush to trade him. Lillard loses leverage if he starts sitting out games

  6. dont_care-

Jfc sit his ass on the bench for the next 4 years. Enjoy the twilight of your career. Douche

  7. blowdarts69

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Mr. Lillard

  8. pewpewWitThaL8stToy

Dame really a hoe Lmao and yall wanted him to get his ring now look at how he doing us

  9. PineappleHotSalsa

I’m kinda starting to hope the just rides the bench until the trade deadline now.

  10. Wide-Concentrate7228

Dame legit gonna ruin his reputation in Portland

  11. AllOutRaptors

I’m sorry I love Dame, but I hope the Blazers ship him to fucking Charlotte or something.

Going from mocking players for “running from the grind” for over a decade, and then suddenly demanding a trade and refusing to go anywhere except the team that just made the finals is BS.

    Dude just lost all credibility

  12. RandyJoeP

Spent all summer/offseason cutting out Joe’s legs from him, continuing it now. Good riddance. All that. “Recruiting” dame did sure did bring a lot of trade requests for guys to come to Portland didnt it?

  13. iguessineedanaltnow

Dude really killing any and all goodwill he had built with the fanbase on his way out the door. Retire the jersey but I don’t want the statue anymore.

  14. JoeCroninAlt

This about does it for me. Fuck Damian Lillard.

  15. OkSector2732

This feels illegal for a player to be able to artificially create their own NTC

  16. VvVvvVvV202930

I’m not even a Blazers fan, but Lillard’s character death is interesting to watch. How he’s gone from being unafraid of adversity to “trade me to the best team in the east or I’ll stamp my feet and rack up DNPs” is incredibly peculiar.

  17. OursIsTheFury34

Oof. If true, not a very bright move by Dame and Co. Classic example of acting like you have all the leverage when you really have none.

What’s the warning I wonder? “You better not trade for my client or else…..”

  18. TheHeed97015

I’m so over this trade drama. Wake me when something is eminent

  19. LacklusterMeh

We are gonna get worked aren’t we?

  20. CaucasianCactus

Awesome, first the GP2 stuff, now this. Guy has a vendetta against Portland after they probably made him millions

  21. QuarterNote44

This is just sad. I’m not a Blazers fan. At all. Jazz fan, Weber State alum. Never thought I’d sour on Dame, but here we are. Hope you guys trade him to anywhere but Miami and get a decent haul.

  22. TemporaryMassive7246

I have been in support of sending Dame to Miami all along, but Dame and his agent are really buying all bridges on his way out.

But in reality, we do not have much choice and should send him there ASAP before things get even more uglier. Keeping him any longer benefits no one. The team will be a huge mess and will surely delay our rebuilt

  23. el___mariachi

It’s depressing how shitty Dame has been with this demand. He himself said the grass is not always greener when you demand a trade. Sack up and live by your own words man. At this point I say call his fucking bluff and trade him for a similarly shitty package to anywhere but Miami.

  24. jordygordy

    never thought i’d be grateful i don’t own a lillard jersey…

  25. Intelligent_Self1034

Good that’s what our franchise gets

  26. No_Information3972

I really miss Brandon Roy. In my eyes, he is the greatest Blazer of all time.

  27. Fickle-Function10

I mean I wouldn’t boo him yet. But we’re starting to get to the Russ Wilson levels of entitlement.

  28. “General managers who talked with ESPN suggested that pressure won’t impact how they’ll proceed. They would have Lillard under contract for four years, and believe his default mechanism would remain playing hard and well”

  29. Darthron911

So many teams have a shot to win a title and this guy only wants to go to one? So much for the I just want to go somewhere to have a shot at a chip BS from Lillard.

    Full article:

For teams calling about trading for Damian Lillard, the message from the Portland Trail Blazers has been unambiguous: Bring your best offer and make your team our preferred trade destination. General manager Joe Cronin doesn’t plan to operate a transfer portal to the Miami Heat and dutifully deliver history’s greatest Blazer to his targeted team.

Ownership plans to honor Lillard’s request for a trade, but Blazers officials are telling teams they’ll move Lillard for only the deepest return of assets available. Portland is pursuing the sliding scale superstar package of desirable draft picks and high-level young players. For the summer, Cronin’s betting the market over Miami.

As he executes the exit of the greatest player in franchise history, executives talking to Cronin describe him as devoid of sentiment. Business for Lillard, business for the Blazers.

As Cronin explores the broader landscape, Lillard’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, has been calling prospective trade partners and warning against trading for his client, team executives told ESPN. Goodwin is telling organizations outside of Miami that trading for Lillard is trading for an unhappy player. As interference goes, this is a time-honored agent maneuver to depress offers and clear a path to a predetermined destination.

General managers who talked with ESPN suggested that pressure won’t impact how they’ll proceed. They would have Lillard under contract for four years, and believe his default mechanism would remain playing hard and well.

One year ago, Lillard pursued the Blazers on a supermax extension and landed a four-year, $176 million deal — including a $60 million annual average when he’s 35 and 36 years old. That’s making it harder for the Blazers to trade Lillard, not easier. Some teams see that extension as a back-end blight on their cap.

The more they play hard ball the more I want to reengage with Danny Ainge and Utah.

It’s just crazy to me that an NBA player can sign the super max and then his agent can suppress the value of that contract to 28 teams to stranglehold us. Pretty ridiculous.
