This was a good trade because it allows the Spurs to maximize their future, become a player in the 2024 NBA Draft, and gain another key future first-rounder as the Spurs are in asset accumulation mode.

I don’t see why there needs to be a limit on amount of picks we have when every all star these days require a team to give countless picks to obtain them. Now we can hold some picks and have the ability to get a future all star when Wemby is ready.

Picks are always great.
Even if you dont use them.. you can get 1-2 All Stars with them any season. We always have disgruntled stars or teams that look to trade a big name for a pick haul

From what I see on Fansspo, we have 12 first and 14 second round picks between 2024 and 2028! That is crazy!
Not sure how that works really, those are too many picks and wouldn't even work from a roster standpoint, we would be dropping first picks every year to be able to make the roster limit! But we know that won't happen and a trade will have to happen at some point, hell if we trade away 5 first and second round picks for a star in the next 2 years that still leaves us with 7 and 9 picks over a 4 year period! Excited either way, go spurs go!

Agree with Clan. At some point, it just becomes overkill, especially if the roster is starting to take shape. Unless the plan is to accumulate so many assets that by the time they’re contenders, they can just trade 2027 FRPs to teams with immediate need for their FRPs in 2034 ish, when they’ll actually need them again.
Who knows what that pick turns out to be, Wemby could be in his prime and we could have a top 10 pick on our hands, maybe even a second number 1 overall pick! Just to add to it Bullock is a great player who we could either trade for more picks or possibly just straight-up use him this season, I wouldn't mine seeing Bullock out there playing defense and hitting threes helping us win games. Spurs absolutely fleece Dallas and hit a home run trade, Its honestly mind-boggling how much value We've just aquired from giving up some second Rounders. Bravo
