[Barry Jackson] “Regarding report about message to non Heat teams, Lillard’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, tells me: “I do what I should for my client. Some teams I did call. Other teams have called me. It’s a respectful relationship with most teams. Truthfully, he wants to play in Miami. Period.”

Barry Jackson is quickly becoming just as, if not more ignorable than Fentress and Dwight.

  2. BlazingSaint

I have never seen a player, in any sport whatsoever, go for the route the way Dame is doing right now. It blows my mind.

  3. Krustykrab8

Aaron Goodwin maybe needs to ask himself why he barely has any clients left. Dame, Matisse, demar gp2 not much else… oh wait Keljin Blevins too of course.

  4. Boxinggandhi

It’s got to be Dames family, right? I see no other reason for him to remain so staunch on something this stupid. I bet he promised all his family/employees that since they stayed with him in Portland all these years, they would all go party in Miami for a while. I see no other reason for him to be this bullheaded. He just doesn’t want to eat crow.

  5. bigtrackrunner

If he prefers Miami but would be ok playing for others it’s fine, but refusing anyone besides Miami and maybe Brooklyn is lame.

  6. Vfbcollins

Interesting that Goodwin chooses to respond at all. Definitely seems like Woj’s report had the intended effect.

  7. KingKongKaram

He should have signed a no trade clause then but he didn’t so he doesn’t get the luxury to do that

  8. Legitimate-Ad-6968

Well should have did the right way and became a FA just like LMA did but nope not even a year ago he signed a 2 year extension! The fact that we are finna lose a guy on a 4 year deal for basically nothing and Adam Silver is not gonna do a damn thing about it cause we are located in Portland.

  9. If he doesn’t get what he wants, he’s taking his toys and going home guys! He is big superstar, and should get everything he wants, and if you don’t give it to him now you are a big meanie!

  10. aamartt

For the sake of small market teams, I wish Milwaukee, NO, Indiana or even Utah had assets and will to trade for Lillard.

  11. HappyAtheist3

Thanks Dame for a decade of great basketball but fuck off

  12. Affectionate_Cost759

Imagine if this was Rich Paul lol

  13. nurkoff

Ah yes, Aaron Goodwin, current Blazers GM. This whole situation is so icky

  14. MookieV

Lmao he’s admitting to it? Gotta respect the balls

  15. cippy91

This is the same Dame we have loved this whole time? what the fuck happened man? this dude is going rogue right now, full on. And yes I get it, we didn’t build around him blah blah yes its frustrating but quite honestly this is way more frustrating. If he wants to fuck the organization for whatever they did or didnt do cool but this directly affects the fans because we are still gonna be fans of this franchise therefor we want a decent return. This is fucking wild

  16. likes_basketball

He really pulled a 180 in a matter of days. He went from hero to villain rapidly.

  17. thisoneslaps

I was happy to root for Lillard on another team when he initially asked for a trade, but now that he’s tanking possible returns, he can eat shit.

  18. iabeytorm

Then he should have gone there as a free agent. Period.

  19. Finger_Gunnz

The GM has a job too. This deal will be his legacy going forward. Dame wants what he wants but it’s gotta work for Portland as well.

  20. AmitN_Music

Even IF the Blazers had every bit of intent to trade him to Miami…just shut up for a moment, Dame. Stop telling your agent to call teams. Stop telling Haynes things. At the very least let us use other teams to negotiate and play with the Heat a bit. I know you’re not obligated to but god damn man….how is this man gonna act like a saint for 11 years then go all Stone Cold Steve Austin during the Invasion.

  21. TheHeed97015

Comments went from “get that ring Dame” to “f off already Dame” real quick 🤣

  22. spend 10 years building up a reputation as a high character guy then tear that all down in a week lmao

  23. Kachow-95

This is actually sad how this is all playing out. I can’t believe it’s all come crumbling down in this fashion.

  24. HistoricalPeanut7

Truthfully, Portland wants a fair return. Period.

  25. levi_heicho098

Honestly lost all respect for dame. Bro is acting like a bigger bitch than kd and kyrie.

  26. slappy_patties

Then he should sign there in free agency

  27. myNameBurnsGold

Dame is my all time favorite player, but if we’re getting scraps in return – I say pay him to sit.

  28. upasaka_kolla

Cronin don’t you dare budge. He can ride the bench for the next few years if need be. Fuck this bs dame is pulling

  29. MaReddits509

The only thing dame is playing with this year is his balls

  30. RumHam1996

At this point, it’s collusion against POR. His agent and league are gonna force him to a team one way or another, Portland will get scraps, and that will be that. It’s so infuriating

ALSO: I’m past the point of “Send Dame where he wants”. At this point, send him to Detroit or Charlotte or some other shitty team. If he sits out it looks bad on him, not us.

  31. Natural_Stranger_267

Sounds like Lillard wants to ride the bench at PDX for a season to me.
