The Phoenix Suns have absolutely knocked it out of the park in 2023 free agency. The goal of the Suns this offseason was to fill out the roster with quality role players to surround their new big 3. And they’ve managed to accomplish that goal by signing players like Yuta Watanabae, Drew Eubanks and Eric Gordon to team friendly contracts. But there’s one key player the Suns managed to pickup who’s not getting the attention he deserves and that’s Keita Bates-Diop. The Suns signed him to a two year 5 million dollar deal, and two and a half million annually will prove to be an absolute steal. I’m starting to change my mind about the Suns winning it all!
It’s a tossup; Yuta/Diop. I really like Diop and I HOPE Vogel tries different lineups, whatever works is what I want. I love having KBD on this Suns team and he will help us win as a starter or off the bench. He’s that kind of player.
I love how quickly and alertly he gets to the rim. Savvy offensive player.
keita was an absolute fleece for 2 yr 5 million and i can’t believe the suns got him, i think he will be more impactful as a starter than watanabe because of his defense and athleticism

I feel Keita Bates-Diop should be the fifth man in the starting lineup. All he got to do is guard the other team’s best perimeter player and attacked the rim. Basically do what Ben Simmons won’t do.
