This is like an abusive ex bringing out vows from a wedding during divorce hearings.

We get it, he said some stuff while he was in love. The blazers also got fat and stopped being a loving partner. Is dame probably being a bit too greedy in splitting up the house? Probably? Does he deserve it? Honestly probably. Sucks for the kids tho.

The Blazers lost ~~traded~~ LaMarcus Aldridge nine years ago, and we’ve never had a player of his caliber since. Why would/should Dame stick around? Despite his loyalty, the franchise fucked him.

People are always talking about how free agents don’t want to come to Portland, look at our behavior. Why would they want to? All of the best players in franchise history are pretty well hated by the fans now. All of you attacking Dame are terrible fans.

  3. “They might switch up on me. That’s business”

Which is exactly what happened. So he left. It’s not that deep.
Organization decided to pivot away from his timeline entirely.

He was all in until we weren’t

  4. Dame isn’t allowed to have a change of heart… once he cut his hand on the obsidian blade and made a blood-pact, he was bound to us for eternity in servitude.

I’m up to bash Dame right now as much as anyone, but we should be precise about why we think he’s being a diva.

It’s not that he asked out. That was totally reasonable given the direction of the front office. Even though it was the smart basketball decision for the team, we switched up on him. Asking out after that is fair.

It’s the “Miami or bust” bullshit that we’re enraged about. Like really, with four years left on the contract you willingly signed you want to be a free agent and totally screw your team over? Oh and it just so happens you only want to play for the eastern conference finalists? That’s the lame shit right there, not the asking out.

  6. All this bringing up past quotes is dumb. This was years ago. Things and people change. I dont hold it against him for wanting out. The clock is ticking, and he wants to hoist a championship trophy. It’s the demanding only Miami that gets me when they have no viable assets.

  7. You can’t go down swinging through a rebuild.

I wonder if Dame has a fear of Scoot becoming the best player on the team too soon, before Dame is ready to hand over the keys.

What on Earth do you think you are getting for a 33-year old?

No team with good draft picks or young stars is in position to compete for a championship so they wouldn’t trade for him.

Teams that are competitive may want him but they don’t have young players or draft picks to trade. In the rate instance they have young star players, they usually can’t move them without falling out of contention.

This is just so sad. J believe Dame meant what he said when he said it…the reality of aging and expectations changed everything.
