“The most consistent rumblings there have been is that the Hawks had been very interested in Siakam, but Siakam has been resisitant to the idea of being traded to Atlanta. Siakam wouldn’t want to sign an extension in Atlanta.”

I’ve yet to see a good argument on why pairing Siakam with Trae is a good idea.

He wants a super max. I’m not sure if he qualifies but he has made All-NBA. I think you have to be all-NBA the season beforehand to qualify.

If that’s the case, he definitely does not want an extension this year, especially in Atlanta, where he likely wouldn’t get enough touches to make All-NBA. If he plays another season as the No. 1 option in Toronto and gets the votes, that’s big money.

Very much seems like we’re going after a big three, curious to see will we give up a package of young guys, Hunter + or capela +, still think like our defence might be an issue

‘had’ interest is the key word here.
