Oh I like Diallo, local kid too. We have too many wings tho. Others not gonna lie don’t know too much about except Joseph which meh
Would rather 1 of their bigs. Feel like we r filled at the guard spot.
Don’t really need any of those guys (and Joseph already signed with the Warriors).
There are 13 guaranteed NBA contracts on the roster right now (I’m including the first round picks even though they technically haven’t signed yet) and Sumner would be 14 if they guarantee his contract.
If anything the Nets could use another big. P.J. Washington is interesting, but I don’t know if the Nets want to pay him what it would take to make Charlotte think twice about matching.
If I had to guess, the focus right now is on the summer of 2025 when (as of right now) players like Giannis and Mitchell will be free agents. I don’t think the Nets want to add a lot of salary on the books for that season, which Washington would be.
There’s also Christian Wood, but I assume there’s a reason why he puts up numbers yet every team lets him go. He just put up 16.6 points (on 62.4% TS) and 7.3 rebounds (mostly off the bench) for the Mavericks this past season yet it seems like they don’t have much interest in bringing him back even though they’re desperately trying to put a good team around Luka. Given the Grant Williams and Richaun Holmes acquisitions, plus the Powell re-signing, it looks like they’re moving on.
I’ve also read that his personality isn’t the best, and I don’t think the Nets want to sign anyone with an even slightly questionable attitude given what they just went through (plus with Ben Simmons still on the team).
I know Diallo is a poor three point shooter but I’m still surprised by the is move. I would take a flyer on him.
Diallo is a Marks guy. I know the Nets have a ton of guards, but I would love this kid if he joined the squad.
