You have to love and respect his humility and honesty. Kid’s a stud.

He was def in his own head last night. The expectations and hype are just too much
I honestly don’t know how LeBron didn’t crumble under that pressure. You had a reporter say to his face when he was 16 that he would be a failure if he wasn’t a first ballot HOFer
tbh this is why the eye test does actually matter. Wemby displayed a good BBIQ, made great passes, and was a force defensively. Nerves and lack of preparation certainly hurt, but there is NOTHING to be concerned about. Only box score losers would say there is something wrong or telling about this performance.
Does anyone know where to find all the summer league post game interviews? it’s impossible
One game thus far, with little practice time and the nerves from his first nba style game. He was in his own head, most 19 year olds would be. I saw good smart plays and excellent defense, the shots will fall. I kinda hope he would learn to dominate the post, hardly anyone would be able to affect his shot. Kareem was at the game, how much did he score with the skyhook?
I thought he looked pretty good in the first half even with the shots not falling. It felt like second half he realized he wasn’t getting many passes and started forcing stuff.
Celtics fan here and I don’t know where else to rant:
The amount of wemby hate on twitter is so dumb. First summer league game. Not nba. SUMMER LEAGUE. And they overlook the 5 blocks and impressive handles for his size and playmaking that he had. I just don’t get it.
No one thought this kid was gonna be MVP form first year, let alone one damn summer league game. He’ll need to adjust and hone is offensive game for sure, but the fact that he still had an amazing impact on the game without scoring? It’s the sign of a great player.
