Throughout his entire career so far, the NBA media tried to tear Nikola Jokic apart. Whether it was his appearance, playstyle or something else, they always attempted to diminish how great Jokic truly was. After accomplishing basketball’s most impressive feat (winning the championship), Nikola Jokic finally won the war against the NBA media. There are numerous great players throughout history that play their entire careers and still fail to win it all, but Jokic is not one of them anymore. After winning the 2023 NBA championship, he has proved he can play on the biggest stage and lead his team to victory. At this point, he already proved the media wrong, however, they are still coming up with narratives to take away from his greatness.

As much as I wanted Miami to win that finals, I’m very satisfied Jokic finally got a ring. The way he plays is ridiculous and insanely good, he deserves all of his success and awards.
I absolutely despise the media for countless reasons, they way they’ve acted over Jokic is one of them. They’ve basically acted xenophobic towards European players like him and I can’t stand it. Fuck the media for all the stupid shit they say and try to destroy the people they talk about. Seriously, most of the drama they talk about means nothing to me. Media is pathetic.
His defense could still be better, but he makes up for it on everything else.

Jovic is a Serbian. He comes from a culture that has seen REAL hardship over the years thanks to wars, upheaval etc…. he isn't from a culture that bows down to the altar of reality TV, basket ball wives, The Kardashians, Gangster rap, gaudy jewelry, acting like a buffoon in public causing unnecessary drama/ scandal.
He and his people as a whole have a totally different set of priorities and the biggest one being focusing on FAMILY.
These people don't and can't relate to the stupidity that The United States entertains. The United States has been watered down and fractured by the ever present r@ce issues, the intolerant bigotry of the hard right, the over the top hyper sensitivity of the left in some cases, the artificial fantasy world of social media, an almost entire generation of youth who seem to lack purpose, focus and ambition.
The Joker isn't a product of this cesspool of mediocrity,laziness and selfishness that too many Americans today seem to embrace and wear like a badge of honor. And I would wager to day that Ukrainians are very similar. Unfortunately Jovic had to become a victim of the warped climate that seems to be ingrained in the U.S.
He had to be dragged into the race dynamic for being a European male who happened to cook the livers of some very hyper sensitive teddy boys, who couldn't accept or stand the fact that he is actually THAT GOOD. As a result he was attacked by the NBA media and certain players and pundits who HAD to bring race into the narrative just to sooth their personal anxieties. He didn't ask for this. He just wanted to engage in his profession and do his best to help get his team to the top of the pinnacle of his sport. Sadly a contingent of whining, petty r@ce police of the NBA placed their ire on him and he was catapulted into sporting headlines for all the WRONG reasons. That's the longstanding trademark it seems of the United States.
