I’m sure Matt Moore and I are the only ones that really care but it’s baffling to me that the groups aren’t by division.
Taking a month of the regular season and having it be all division games, 1 home-1 away against each team would be a ton of fun setting aside the tournament aspect and would add much needed stakes to divisional games. Instead we’re getting these contrived groups with no connection to each other that will forgotten whenever you aren’t looking at the group standings.

I think it’s injury dept (obviously) but I like the looks of B over A or C.
But whatever happens, I think this mid season tournament is a fantastic idea. I love the (un?) intended consequence that, despite if a title run is really possible, some prospects and journeymen could get for real paid off the back of this in a way plenty of players are not.

I really think if it comes down to it teams may throw a game to not pass group stage. I dont know if coaches want to play potential 3 games vs high level opponents in potential playoff atmospheres early December

I just hope the wins counting raises it above the “minimum relevancy for Jokic effort” bar. We still won’t see playoff effort, but I’d like to look something like the monster team we are.

european stars are gonna care about it ….think about jokic, his biggest moments pre NBA were the two serbian cup finals he played in as a 18/19 yr old…normaly MEGA has no buisness contending for the ABA league title but they made the cup finals twice which made people more aware that there is this insanly skilled goofy big guy ….thats where i first noticed jokic as well. (He missed the winning shot what a bum) .
My point is, there are a lot of teams and fanbases that feel they never gonna win anything in the nba and this tournament will give them a chance , its just bragging rights but so is every other trophy in the history of sports….winning is nevr meaningless
