Definitely sounds like Cronin is pushing for Jovic and Jaquez and Riley is only giving Portland one of the two at most.
And the longer it drags out the more likely it is that another team says “fuck it” and tries to trade for him.
I mean Portland wasn’t getting many good or star free agents before but they definitely not going to get anybody moving forward

Anyone who expects Lillard to be in Heat training camp is going to be disappointed. I’ve thought for a while there’s no way this gets done in the offseason.

The problem in all this, is we will miss on the rest of the FAs waiting on the Dame situation…

because yeah, realistically even a team like NO or BKN have great packages (even Boston…bleh), but their GM’s do not want someone so adamant about **not** playing with them.
so unless Lillard capitulates and says he wouldn’t mind another team or 2 to go to, Guess Cronin knows it’s us or “bust”.

Personally I feel like taking this drama into the season, whether Dame plays or not will only create a whirlwind of drama for their organization that will hamper the development of their young players and take away focus from what is important for them.
They have nothing to lose in doing this if they admit to themselves that they have no shot of winning anything meaningful, which is a terrible way to manage an organization. This is the crux of why Dame wants to come here and not the other way around.
This could all be a moot point depending on how disgruntled Tyler is coming back this season but I bet he will want to show off his value regardless.
