[Sixersdaily] Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton thought he was originally being traded to the Sixers after hearing the news that the Kings were trading him 👀

This is an under the radar gut punch in all of sixers disasters. Morey got his washed friend over this man

People really wanna talk about how Morey’s hands are tied with the current state of the team like he’s not the one most responsible for the current situation

I understand why Morey didn’t trade for Haliburton at the deadline, his jumper looks ugly. Over the last 1.5 years we’ve seen his jumpshot is actually effective, but at the time it seemed iffy.

So there was an Haliburton offer after all huh?. Man did he screw the Ben situation up.

He’s the type of player that has enough to push us past the 2nd

Considering what they ultimately got for Hali and where Ben is at now in terms of status in the league, I think that the Kings front office was finally smart enough to not take the bait. For the time being, that trades looks like a rare win-win for both sides.

Ok let’s not revisionist history this. Yes, now Haliburton is an obvious franchise player that you’d take over Harden, but (A) at the time, he was a good not great guard with a fugly jumper (shades of Markelle I’m sure) on a non winning team, Harden was clearly the better player at that moment in time. (B) the Kings wanted a win now player back in return (and a big man, i.e Saboner), they almost certainly wouldn’t have taken damaged goods in Simmons.

All this proves is that Hali is on Reddit.

Of course he would be better than Harden, but I can’t complain, we got rid of Simmons

I wish. Morey messed up with that offer on the table.

Ok, he said “there was a rumor”. This confirmed that he had access to the internet and saw Pompey’s report

This was obviously the move to make at the time. So frustrating they went for Harden.

I was all in on Haliburton. He didn’t depreciate our remaining firsts and kept Curry and Drummond around. Daryl fumbled the bag again.

Ugh. I knew it was true regardless of all the coping. I love Morey but the Harden trade over Hali was terrible.

This doesn’t mean it was happening, just that Halliburton thought it was.

If the sixers truly didn’t do any homework on Haliburton by not asking Georges for any opinions they’re truly lost
