At this stage, it doesn't matter if the trade rumours are true or not, the fanbase is now so divided I dont believe it can ever be fixed. Your argument is dead on.

Hi Rafftakes, it has been a while. I hope you are doing well. As for Spicy P, it is not dislike but it is just a realization over the years that he definitely is not a #1 option for the Raptors. Most times, he does not do well in the clutch with the game on the line in the 4th quarter, in the playoffs, or in the play-in where all the chips are on the table with the loser going home. If he was more of a clutch player that could be the difference maker doing those tough times, then he would get more respect. That also brings up the money part. He is just not worth #1 option money. That kind of money would be a serious overpay. So there you have Rafftakes. I respect his work ethic and dedication but hard truth is hard truth. Cheers my friend!
Pascal fades in the fourth of most games especially towards the end of the season. He leads the entire league in minutes, plays a tough physical game in today's soft NBA, and is the ONLY player on the Raptors who has a dominating inside presence– on the worst shooting team with no outside game. To top it off he is used as the number one option when perhaps he shouldn't be and every team knows it and plans their defence on stopping Siakam. Still he blows through them until he can't even lift his arms at the end of a game to make a simple free throw… WITH THE GAME ON THE LINE. Whose fault is that? Hell, Siakam is a lot better than he should be, but he will never be the talent that he is expected to be.
So how does this team take the next step? How about the 'fantasy chosen one' step up to the plate and equal the output of Siakam? The Raptors would be an awfully scary team with 2 Siakams. As for Siakam himself, pay him the max. It will seem tolerable as the salaries rise, then trade him when the time is right or hope Barnes turns into the superstar the homer's are sure he'll be. Pascal can then resume his role as the greatest #2.
Pascal will not be traded at the start of the season. This team is too cautious and Masai wants too much. They want to see what they have. They want to see how the new guys work out with a new coach in a new system. They especially want to see if #4 steps up and lives up to the hype.
We dont underrate him…he’s just not clutch as a number 1 option…he’s better as a 2 or 3 but he doesnt want a demotion…i dont care if you score 40 points but miss 2/3 free throws to extend the season…id rather he score 15 points and make all 3 of those free throws…
I am starting to wonder if Darko is pressuring to start fresh. Give himself and his coaching team more time to build up a team, rather than keeping Siakam. It sure sounds like it. I don't think Siakam is being treated with the respect he deserves. I will be so sad if they trade him. Scottie needs Pascal.

Siakim is a good player but if he gets the max extension then Toronto will have to lose OG Anunoby and OG is much better for the team.
