Blazers willing to wait months for Dame trade, health holding Zion back? | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

Portland Trail Blazers GM Joe Cronin spoke on the possibility of Damian Lillard’s trade request taking months to figure out. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes debate if there is any chance Dame starts the season in Portland and examine if health is the only thing holding Zion Williamson back in New Orleans.

  1. Nick's burning desire to have Lillard on the Heat is blinding him to reality. Lillard has zero leverage. The Blazers do not need to trade him.

  2. Zion should decide what he likes more: food, or winning. Honestly, I think the answer is food.

  3. Nick wants the Heat to get Lilliard for Herro two bench guys and a first lol. Hes unwilling to accept that another team could smash that deal

  4. Nick what deal should the Blazers take?

Dame for Herro 2 bench players and a first

    Or

Jokic, Murray, 3 firsts, and Braun

Nick- The Herro deal is a steal

  5. If im the pelicans i send zion away immediately for dame.

Might burn you down the line if Zion is great but the dude is injury prone af and also embroiled with hoes

  6. Zion should ask out of New Orleans because he hasn’t lived up to his end? Nola has put a good team around him he just needs to play. So tired of the small market hatred from these shows

  7. What is Boston or Philadelphia supposed to offer when dame and his agent basically says "it's Miami or nothing" ? Oh well take our all NBA player and 3 draft picks so dame can demand a trade next season. ????

  8. I just hope miami drop this thing off, keep herro and sign some bigs to help them… Let dame rot in blazers with his 60M. This will b the start of the loyal players to demand a non trade clause, they will think twice that they could be "dame" when they reached the dead end, like luka and tatum.

  9. The blazers always get blessed with great guards (drexler,B.Roy, Dame, maybe cj McCollum on a good day) they need to trade Dame asap and let scoot cook‼️💯

  10. I did not know nick is the Blazers GM……How does he know there's no other offers?? He (nick) should quit his job if Lillard is traded to another team.

  11. Nick should realize that a player that was a first round pick is not the same as a future draft pick, especially if that first-round player is a bum

  12. holy cow, nick going grey before wildes lol. check that beard. too many hot takes be making you grey. look at brou.

  13. Dame herro jimmy jovic bam. Starting 5. Shipping out lowry dunc caleb jjj orlando 2 1st.

  14. Stop playing dame is going to the heat, ans shame on the Portland for not helping dame.S lebron left the heat with nothing, stop crying!!!

  15. The easiest trade is in front of the Blazers:

    Damian Lillard
    Anfernee Simons

    for

    Zion Williamson
    Jonas Valančiūnas

  16. Nick Wright is 100% WRONG! Herro has less than negative value to Portland. We already have 3-4 guards who would be in front of him in the rotation AND he's more expensive on a longer contract than all 4 of them. Jaquez and Jovic are NOT the same thing as FRP's because they aren't necessarily players that fit in Chauncey's system. That's why GM's value actual draft picks WAY ABOVE recently drafted players: The GM's and coaches can scout them and select the guys that fit best. And those two draft picks from Miami? 2028 and 2030 are the years for those picks, 5 years away AT A MINIMUM! By the time it's time to make those picks, Sharpe, Scoot and Ant will ALL be due for extensions. That doesn't help us rebuild AT ALL! Is the Blazers plan to rebuild for a decade?!

Miami's offer would be so far below Dame's value that Cronin should be FIRED ON THE SPOT if he accepted it. That trade doesn't make us better and it doesn't help us rebuild AT ALL!! Miami either needs to get another team involved to send us more picks and better players or we'll just keep Dame and Miami can have him when his contract is up.

  17. I love Zion! But!
He needs to quit listening to his mom hating on NOLA, and he just needs to play ball. I know she and the family want him in New York, but he has no respect for the players or the game that is paying him enough money while he's injured to take care of his family and friends for life! Dude needs to grow up and be a man!

  18. My point exactly. There’s no need for the Blazers to trade Dame if they don’t like what they’re given.
