According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, the Damian Lillard trade rumors to the Boston Celtics have no real legs because the Miami Heat are the clear front runner to complete a Lillard trade with the Portland Trail Blazers. The Celtics were rumored as one of the destinations to be interested in Damian Lillard, along with the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and New York Knicks.

In other Celtics news, the team announced that they are signing 2022 NBA Draft pick JD Davison to a two-way contract for the second consecutive year. Davison played in a handful of games for the Celtics last year, but spent most of his time in the NBA G League with the Maine Red Claws. The Celtics are also working out Alize Johnson, who could be signed to a veteran minimum contract if Brad Stevens elects to bring him into the fold.
