I will be discussing the latest rumors surrounding Pascal Siakam and the Toronto Raptors. It was being reported that Indiana Pacers could be interested in trading for Pascal Siakam. Another team rumored to be interested in Pascal Siakam are the Orlando Magic. I will be going through some players the Raptors could look to acquire for Pascal.

Orlando needs a Side Kick which is Siakam's forte, they do not need him as the #1 so that would work. Are there pieces to get back that would be helpful, hmmm. Good take on the Orlando interest.

What people call "role players" in this deal are young guys who have the potential to be starters. That's how it works, not every rookie gets a starting job. Secondly 4 role players will be more diversity, more potential, more scoring than 1 Pascal Siakam. I remember the flack MU got when he traded Rudy Gay (similar at that time to PS), and it turned the fortunes of the franchise around for a good decade leading up to the Championship year. What the team will get with PS (because of his one year rental service) will be close to what the Raps gave for Kawhi. A solid contributor who can start, a great young player, a role player or two to fill salary and a pick – but Pacers are NOT giving up Nembhard and Mathiruin together!

Wouldn't mind seeing what this team, as is, can do this year. That said, if Siakam truly wants to stay and play only in Toronto ( to the point of tanking his value ), he better be willing to extend his contract at todays levels.

A question. Didn't JP say he has no interest in being with a rebuilding team? By trading Pascal that's a rebuild. At that point, aren't the Raptors risking him asking for a trade at the earliest opportunity? Toronto is stupid if they trade Siakim. He is worthy of an extension. If they were willing to break the bank for Fred, Pascal is a no-brainer. Remember Scottie hasn't arrived yet and OG is very injury prone. If Toronto moves ahead with the rebuild, a 35-47 season is likely.

There is no way the Pacers would give up Mathurin or Walker, plus Hield, Smith, Nesmith and a protected 1st round pick in 2024 for possibly a one year rental of PS. PS doesn’t fit Pacer’s timeline of a championship team building anyway. Plus, PS is a bad fit now Toppin, Walker are on board at the 4 position. I’d not do the purported trade of 4 “role players” plus the 2024 protected first round for PS trade if I were in charge unless PS agrees to sign an extension first.
