The Dallas Mavericks have been lowkey having a great NBA offseason. After missing the playoffs last season despite an All-NBA performance from Luka Doncic, Mark Cuban and the Mavs got to re-sign Kyrie Irving to a 3-year extension. But Luka and Kyrie are just the main core pieces of this team and the biggest trade that the Mavs pulled off was trading for Grant Williams. In this trade, Dallas gave up Reggie Bullock to San Antonio plus a couple of picks to the Celtics. But Williams should be a key piece for a contending Dallas Mavericks team. Dallas also got who they wanted in the NBA draft after selecting Dereck Lively and Olivier-Maxence Prosper. The team also signed Seth Curry, and also acquired Richaun Holmes, and Dante Exum.
The Mavs already have rising young players Josh Green and Jaden Hardy but the team is still in win-now mode. Luka Doncic is still one of the best NBA players and Kyrie Irving should provide him with the support to win a championship. The Dallas Mavericks’ offseason moves are encouraging. Coach Jason Kidd will be having a chance to build off his star tandem after missing the playoffs. But how will Grant Williams help Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irvng, and the Dallas Mavericks?

Predict how far the Mavs will Go next season 🤔
They will be lucky to be a 6th seed in the West. No shot creators outside of Luka and Kyrie

People are such hopeless prisoners to the moment. Everyone actin tough when the Mavericks down…. Luka and Kyrie are going to have a full training camp to figure it out. There are some pairings that work pretty much immediately like AD and Lebron. Guard pairings like this are harder to figure out. Also, unless you watch the Mavs on a nightly basis you don't realize HOW MUCH BETTER freakin mediocre Holmes and rookie Lively make this team lol. They are 200% upgrades over Powell.
Great breakdown, It's not unreasonable to say Grant Williams is a top 5 defender at his position. How deep they go in the playoffs will depend on how good their youngs guys can be, especially Dereck Lively.
The sooner they get the chemistry right, the better chance they can go all the way.
Great video. But there were 2 mistakes at the beginning. 1st Williams got a 54/4 contract. 2nd Dallas didnt give up a couple of 2nd rounders… THEY GOT 2 2nd rounders in the deal from San Antonio. This was the exact trade:
Dallas: Williams + 2 2nd from San Antonio
Boston: 2 2nd from San Antonio
San Antonio: Bullock + 2030 1st round swap from Dallas
That being said, if Dallas can somehow get another good 3&D Wing, as well as a better center, the roster could be a clear contender for the forseable future. To be honest, I still hope we can somehow get Dorian back, as well as getting one of Turner/Capela/Allen/Zuback/Ayton. Maybe not right now But hopefully either at the deadline or next summer. in the Summer of 2024 Dallas will have THJ on an expiring 16 mio contract, Holmes on an expiring 13 mio contract, McGee on an expiring 6 mio contract Curry on an expiring 4.7 mio contract… as well as 2 1st, 3 1st swaps and 5 2nd to trade. That must me enough to get a true center and another quality 3&D wing.

Let them sleep it won’t be the first time. We’re always the underdogs. Worked out for us in 2011 and to an extent 2022
the mavs season this season will be all depend on how luka play and how he maintains his weight.. if he play the best the ceiling of the mavs is higher . that how good luka is

Mavs didnt give up 2 SRP for Grant. They actualy got 2 of them in the trade. They didnt even have 2 SRP to trade to brgin with.
