6th seed is probably the ceiling for this team as is. 8th-10th pick in the draft is probably the floor without any injury considerations. I think a lot of this team’s success hinges on Mathurin being able to play the 3 consistently and ability to defend off of switches at that spot. Bruce Brown should start at SG.
We don’t need KAT. This team is awesome on offense, we need defense and a true 3. Now that we’re 13 guys deep, we need to consolidate down to about 9 and go for a super legit SF. Like sell the farm for Mikal Bridges or be patient for PG or OG. This team is a properly sized 2 way SF away from being contenders IF Jarace and/or Obi hit big time.
How do we get KAT tho?

I like KAT, and ive never been a Myles guy. I still think we should go after Ayton. He, like Toppin, played for a jerk coach.vThey never ran sets for him like we do Myles. Ayton could be a 20/10 guy in this system day one. We can ship Myles abd buddy to Suns, open up a roster spot and get a better center thats younger and more athletic. It is going to be such a dog fight for players to get minutes I get that we like all these guys but we need to stretch thinner at the 2/3 nesmith, mathurin, brown, buddy, nembhard, and Sheppard there’s not enough minutes for all of them I think we desperately need to get off some of those guys

I think adding Jarace Walker is huge win for the teams future success! He is the best connective piece you could have gotten at 7/8 Walker is incredibly impressive as a decision maker and for a guy who is 6’8 and 240 lbs he moves insanely quickly: 10.89 agility drill is nutty and he showed he could move from the paint to the wing 3pt line at breakneck speed at Houston!
I’m sure you’ve seen his IMG tape but I feel like I can’t emphasize this enough, he will contribute to winning faster than anyone in this draft not named Wemby! I really wanted him in Detroit but I am looking forward to seeing him help Indy cement themselves as a force in the east for the foreseeable future! I think he makes all rookie first team next year and it won’t even be close! His bag is deeper than most realize and his shot is going to be there when you need it!

They should be a playoff team. Added defense, got bigger and more athletic. I liked Walker more than Hendricks but that’s just me. Hendricks had more offensive upside but Walker is a glue guy as is brown.

This year is different. We can’t look at last years team and use that to project this team. This is a different team. Mathurin will be better. I think he’ll be a lot better. We have size and defense now. So a lot of guys won’t be playing out of position. We have a team that can still run even without Tyrese, and adding Bruce was nice cuz he’s a extra facilitator who games fits our fast pace.
Realistically we can be a top 3 seed. But everything will have to go right. Mathurin is gonna have to take another step. I can see him being a 20ppg guy this season with improved handles.
Obi would have to come and start tapping into his potential. I can see him being a 15-18 ppg guy(more than we had at the Pf position last season)
Bruce brown scoring average goes up but his value will really show when he guards the opposing teams best guard, which will makes things a lot easier for Tyrese. And Rick won’t have to bench Tyrese for defensive purposes like he did last season.
I can realistically see all of our staters averaging 15+ppg. With a solid bench like we had last year so I don’t see why we can’t be a top 3 seed. IF EVERYTHING GOES right. And everything going right isn’t some far fetched ideas either. We gotta count on avoiding injuries and player development
