As of midweek, Portland had been unmotivated to engage with Heat or try to get this done. Maybe they hope this plays out like Durant last summer & they cajole him to start season with team. If so, then it’s in Dame’s hands, whether he reports to camp, makes public comment etc – Barry Jackson

i feel like the best option would be to hold out on trading him until the deadline and see if miami gets desperate

  3. Sa-Tiva

Cronin no likey 3 firsts and tyler herro

  4. heatlifer305_

As a long time Blazers fan, we should accept the trade and move with our season

  5. Aestro17

Miami unmotivated to make a serious offer.

Blazers are in rebuild mode and draft picks 5-7 years from now doesn’t help that. Neither does Tyler Herro. Find another team to take him, get some assets that actually help the rebuild and come back with something more than just “here’s some stuff”.

Pat Riley walking into the car dealership saying he’s got a couple hundred bucks in his pocket, give him the Ferrari, he can’t go any higher.

Good. If I’m Cronin, I’m telling Riley to stop wasting my time with shit offers. Figure out a 3 team deal then come to me.

It’s been reported that they “want to give up as few players as possible” which is absurd since they don’t have a ton of valuable players anyways and they don’t have a ton of picks they can trade.

  7. Pretend-Profit54

They are already ready to have an offer for 4 first round picks but are not willing to offer all of their young players and are not bidding against theirselves

  8. Talkshowhostt

I don’t think Heat fans are melting down, they’ve been to two finals in 4 years.

  9. toadtruck

The screeching from the miami sub is absolutely hilarious

  10. Antique-Purple-Axe

fuck this forced into accepting a lowball situation.

  11. MookieV

Miami Heat: Here’s some Red Delicious apples and some dryer lint

    Portland: no thanks

    Miami fans: *surprised Pikachu*

  12. Darthron911

Going to have to go check out Miami media to see the full effect of the meltdown.

Wonder if Miami’s reported unwillingness to enhance their offer impacts dame’s desire to be there. He put it all on the line to manufacture a trade specifically to the heat, and now the hold-up is that they love Jovic/JJJ and some future late-firsts too much to give them up for dame?

It would appear the motivation to have him in Miami isn’t as mutual as he thought when he and his agent launched their public pressure campaign.

I could also see why he wouldn’t wanna see them empty their cupboard so they can still have some reliable depth when he gets there, but he seems like the kind of guy who might feel a bit slighted by Riley ostensibly not placing enough value on him to do what needs to be done to make it happen.

  14. ewewewe69

Just to spite miami and dame we should send him to the mavs or the timberwolves

  15. decaman69

    >Cronin and that stupid franchise has angered me to no end. At this point, Dame needs to get proactive. I wonder if the players association can get involved?

This is an actual comment from the heat sub. The entitlement and lack of understanding of how the league operates is ridiculous.

  16. tblazrdude

Why would he be? Miami doesn’t want to trade Bam, ‘and’ they’re interested in “retaining as many role players as possible?”

Do they want Dame or not?

They’re literally trying to dump their difficult to move contracts onto the Blazers along with a minimal pick outlay.

  17. MR___SLAVE

Any offers involving Duncan Robinson and/or Herro not being sent to a 3rd team should be immediately laughed at.

Taking on Duncan Robinsons contract is worth 2x FRPs.

  18. EddyTreeNJ

Riley has stuck out multiple times trying to acquire star players.

  19. Any why should we? We’re going to get trash for Dame from Miami.

    Someone make an offer.

Dame really did no one ANY favors by demanding Miami and only Miami. Heck, I would be fine if he was on the blazer’s roster chilling on the bench for the season

  20. GaviFromThePod

Every Miami Heat fan is a crypto scammer and they’re mad that people aren’t buying their bullshit.

  21. BFT_022

Announce that we’re not willing to listen to offers from the Heat until February. Sit Dame on the bench. Wait until the Heat and Dame are absolutelly desperate to find a way for this trade to happen.

  22. Drizzt3919

At this point the last team I want to see him on is the heat.

  23. stilloriginal

Can one of you explain to me why portland is entitled to anything at all? He could have left in free agency but had a handshake agreement with the team that he would resign and they would build a contender. They obviously lied and just wanted him to sign so they could trade him and get something in return. In my view anything is more than they deserve. What am I missing?

  24. mcobb71

I’m fine with dame retiring as a blazer. Warming up that bench until his attitude changes

  25. quazi_mofo

I love the hypocrisy of people thinking Portland is being ridiculous, but have been just as ‘unmotivated’ when the Bam stuff has come out. Miami is trying to pay pennies on the dollar and are upset that Portland isn’t just rolling over? Lol, get bent.

  26. This is turning into the Rodgers – Packers – Jets scenario all over again.

  27. blowdarts69

Watching Heat fans get angrier and angrier instead of realizing ‘hey, it looks like Portland does actually have leverage’ in real time is magnificent.

  28. Derrik_Garrett

I, too, am unmotivated to get fucked over

  29. Pat Reilly needs to come correct is the actual takeaway
