Based on summer league this was a deep draft. My Celtics got a 2nd rounder that looks solid asf.
KPJ, he’s a trade candidate now, sorry to say, but Cam’s upside is higher. If this is his starting point and he goes up and up and up he’ll be an all star caliber wing.
His comp is Jaylen Brown that can dribble better

I see why he slipped in the draft. He takes horrible shots, he has all the ability, he just doesn't know how to play the game yet, plain and simple.

Let me educate you young brother…Amen is a PG…he will back up VanVleet…KPJ will back up Green and Brooks will be the starting 3 with Tari Eason as his immediate backup…unless Eason backs up Jabari Smith at the 4…and Cam will have to fight it out with Tate for the backup 3 spot…There's plenty of minutes available for those guys…
Amen is a PG and will play the 1 in the nba. He might play stretches at the 3 but he is def a 1. However he’ll probably come off the bench for this first year because of Fred/Brooks/Jalen taking up guard minutes.
PG is Fred, SG is Jalen, SF is Brooks, PF is Jabari, C is Señgun
Backups are Amen, KPJ, Cam, Tari and Landale so that’s the starting lineup and bench in order
Yeah Cam got a big chip on his shoulders. Now I do understand Cam broke his leg pretty bad but was able rehab. I know there’s some concerns but had his only 19 by like 10 days. I’m just intrigued but I think the Rockets will place Cam in the D league after game 20 or so. He needs minutes and improve his decision making.
Corey maggette is a good comp. Watching him play, my first thought is khawi Leonard. I guess that would be his ceiling lol. We shall see!!

Watching him play makes me wish my pistons took him over Ausar Thompson. Sure ausar had a great SL game, but i feel like Cam whitmore will have a better career
Having too many good players is a nice problem to have.
Amen will play backup pg. It’s possible Cam might start off the year as third string sf behind Tari of Jeff Green but I think by January he takes over the backup sf role and Tari plays backup pf. They might want to get Uncle Jeff some playing time early so he can be a coach on the floor and then they can decrease his minutes once the young guys learn a bit
Pretty sure Ime will experiment in playing rotation like FVV, Brooks, Tari, Jabari, Jock, Amen as go to defensive line up and offensive players like Sengun, Green, KPJ, Cam will be playing if they having that kind of night. We all know Ime care more about defense and he won’t hesitate to bench any offensive player if they are having negative impact so he’ll definitely get some chance.
Cam is 6'7". But he was still 18 before Summer League started, so he might grow another inch or two in the next 2 years.
As for where he plays. They'll send him to the GLeague while Ime Udoka gets a feel for the rest of the team. It'll take injuries or Ime really not liking someone for Cam to come in and get playing time.

You couldn’t let him slip one more spot. I sooo wanted my Nets to have three Cams on the roster. Didn’t the Rockets need a center more. God, I definitely see the Rockets exchanging number ones with my Nets at least once in the next two years. Rockets need to play six guys 32 minutes a piece. I would love to go to Houston just to see your arena. Cam Whitmore should have gone 21 or 22.
The crazy thing for me as a Rockets fan I was actually cool with them drafting Cam at #4 over Amen. I liked them both that much. So after the Rockets drafted Amen I checked out on the draft assuming Cam would be one of the next guys picked and they'd draft some rando at #20. I didn't even know they drafted Cam until my homies blew my phone up lol. A+ draft for the Rockets.
