You’d have to be extremely and irrationally high on Maxey to think we’ll ever get a better shot at a title moving forward by moving Harden. The only reason we would ever trade him is because our hand is forced. Yes, he’s a ball-stopper but we have almost no draft capital right now and a Harden trade would almost certainly be pennies on the dollar.

I think we can say that Maxey has improved from playing with Harden but there is also a world in which he could get even better getting more of a role and reps, taking what he’s learned from Harden if he leaves. There’s also a world where he’ll never be more than a secondary creator but if Harden is intent on leaving, finding out might be your best choice absent a big swing

I’d do a Harden for Lavine trade. But idek if that’d be a winner
But a Harden for Powell and co. from the Clippers… I mean, I’m open to it, but hard to see it as an upgrade unless they got some real good shooters/role players to complement the trade
Who else are we looking at? The Suns? I don’t really want to roll the dice on CP3’s last year.
I’d trade Harden for 3 quality shooters/wings, but where around the league do you see that? I doubt Boston’s gonna trade with us..
