Taking that lowball, bad faith offer would be devastating for Portland’s future… not sure there’s any other way of looking at it. :-/

  2. YaGirlKellie

Is there a single example, ever, of an all-star (or even borderline all-star caliber player) not signing somewhere for a reason other than money, team quality or the city itself?

Individual players hold the grudge, like this could be ugly enough for Dame to not come back for a final old man role player season / 10 day to retire a Blazer. But for *other* players to hold that grudge too, and to their own financial or competitive detriment? Nahhhhhh

Especially once ownership changes in the next couple years and Cronin gets rightfully shitcanned there wouldn’t even be any logic to being salty about it then.

Right, because small market teams have a moral obligation to let “glamor” teams rob us blind.

You can sum up their hypocritical horse manure with one fact: if Dame was trying to force his way to Boston, the Miami fans would be foaming at the mouth and demanding the Blazers not trade him. All their rationalizations are bogus – this is about their sense of entitlement. Period.

  4. kyleb402

Lol, I saw this on Twitter.

They can’t come up with an actual reason why Cronin should just give Dame to Miami for nothing so they spout this nonsense as if it’s actually a real thing. Just say you think small markets should give you their stars for free, everyone knows it’s what they believe.

  5. Moonbreon

cronin actually looks smart to me, not saying too much, holding power, etc

  6. Do they really think this would matter? Like they believe that homegrown talent that wants out would somehow stay because we traded Dame for a half-eaten sandwich and a diet coke?

  7. TacomaPowers

I’ve noticed the majority of Heat fans use “lmao” or “lol” at the end of their comments. Strange.

  8. Jap_Trap503

These fuckin idiots need to stop sniffing the coke and come back to reality

  9. Wow, thanks Heat fans for the legitimate care and concern for the future of our small insignificant franchise! Of course I expect them also lobby Pat Reilly to send a fair package of assets back due to their concern over our future…. right? Right, Heat fans? No? OK, then sit down

  10. nativeindian12

Which is more important: some intangible future “players like your franchise” bullshit, or getting actual real assets from the Dame trade?

  11. KanyesStolenLaptop

Ya’ll need to get some air lol

Of course there’s idiots scattered everywhere on Twitter and Reddit. No need to dig up all of the awful takes

  12. swallowedbymonsters

Well he’s right whether you want to admit it or not,

  13. ohjeezs

bullshit, bullshit, bullshit… “me being a heat fan” , ah ok i get it now

  14. Smilechurch

“*These people*”…really? That’s one not-so-hot take from one idiot. I’m getting tired of viewing entire fan bases based on what one or two folks say.

Also, no link to that post or tweet, so not sure if it’s authentic.

All I can say is the NBA is a players league. And all the players are monitoring this situation. The Heat org has been silent all-throughout this drama. You only hear from Dame’s camp and from Cronin. So all attention is on the Blazers. And thats for the players to say its either good or bad attention.

    Goodluck, Portland Trailblazers!

  16. aginglifter

People will rationalize any type of bullshit to justify what they want.

  17. iguessineedanaltnow

Heat fans think IQ tests are graded like a golf game.

  18. n1ckrath

can’t wait to trade him to boston and enter the heat sub

  19. The funny thing is the NBA is wanting to expand when they really should just reduce the teams to the Lakers, Heat, Celtics, Warriors, Knicks and Nets.

Small market teams are obviously here to have stars grow before they release their wings to the big time.
