For some players summer league gives them a chance to prove they belong in the league, for others it’s a chance to practice NBA pace and experiment with different moves and shot selections.
Looking at some stats
67 players have taken 20 or more 3pt attempts.
Only 14 of those 67 players have shot 40% or better from 2 & 3.
Jordan Walsh and Jay Scrubb are 2 of those 14 players in that category.
At Arkansas Jordan Walsh shot a .278% from 3pt on 2.0 attempts/game. 20/72 for the season. 36 games.
He went 11/27 in 5 games in summer league.
He clearly was not given the space or coaching freedom at Arkansas that he will get in Boston to let it fly.
He is showing he has the tools and hopefully the work ethic to become a consistent 3&D player for the team.
Another interesting note, Marcus Sasser who many praised coming into the draft as a great shooter and I am guilty of wanting to draft for instant offense is shooting 4/25
Or .160% from 3pt in summer league.
Just another reason to never doubt Brad.
Feeling excited to see Jordan and Scrubb in Celtics green this year!
