On the Mavericks acquiring Capela/Hunter:

The Raptors would appear to have little need for a pricey center after re-signing Jakob Poeltl this month to a four-year deal worth $78 million, so a theoretical trade of Siakam to the Hawks that features Capela would open the door for Dallas to join the trade as a third team or pursue a separate deal with Toronto for Capela.”

I wouldn’t trade either of those pieces straight up for cappella, let alone both.
any contender with weak scoring on their bench should consider Wood at 5M-6M and giving up a SRP. Lakers would imho make a lot of sense especially since LeBron might be able to make Wood behave and by-in. But his market might also just be vet-min.
I would assume the Hawks wanted Tim instead of Bertans in the deal as well.
It’s clear they still hold Capella’s contract as having value, although we’ll see how far that goes into the season as they stare down the tax bill that’s gonna come along with keeping him on the roster.
I could see them viewing a Capella for Hardaway Jr and picks trade as a fall back position if other deals don’t materialize.
I think a team with defensive infrastructure can still benefit from Wood’s talent. He would probably kill it on a team like the Lakers or Heat or Warriors.
