The Nets ended their Las Vegas Summer League with a semi-final loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was an exciting game that went into overtime with the Nets mounting a late stage comeback in the Elam ending. But ultimately, they lost and will head home having had a successful run.
The story of Summer League on the positive side was Jalen Wilson who finished this game with 22 points and 11 rebounds. He had an excellent showing over the last couple of weeks and could earn real minutes with the team this season.
On the flip side, Noah Clowney struggled overall and logged only seven minutes in this one, picking up four fouls in that stretch. The Locked on Nets guys take a look at summer league as a whole and what to make of the play of these guys, and more.

Good evening everyone. Overall the young Summer League squad played with a lot of poise grit confidence and hunger….
Jalen Wilson showed a wide versatility of skills and more then earned his two way contract 🔥… Noah Clowney has a long way to go but is on the right development team to help his skills get better each season.. Lastly Armoni Brooks had a great showing and might be a good choice for that final two way spot….
As far as the Damian Lillard sweepstakes go, would be shocked it doesn't get resolved before training camp. Miami needs a third team to take on Tyler Herro's contract and the Brooklyn Nets have the draft capital and movable contracts to complete this deal. Plus Herro is now following Simmons and Dorian Finney Smith on Twitter which is not a coincidence…. Herro would be the exact scoring piece to complete this new core and let Brook go into training camp with a team ready to compete…..
But obviously the rebounding isxue still hasn't been addressed. Darius Bazley brings athletic upside but still doesn't give Brooklyn a traditional backup to Claxton. Dayron sharpe showed some improvements last year and if he continues his progress that would be a positive.
If the Mavs waive Javale Magee Brooklyn should take a chance on him. He provides veteran leadership and could serve as a mentor to Claxton and Sharpe. If Brooklyn is steering clear of Christian Wood Magee wouldn't be a bad pivot….
Also the Spurs are a team Brooklyn should keep their eyes on… They have a surplus of a roster that would need to be cut down before the season begins. If Brooklyn somehow doesn't become the third team to acquire Herro then maybe pivoting to a combo package of Cameron Payne and Zach Collins wouldn't be a bad plan B…..

If I'm the Nets organization, i either trade for Dame Dollar or i continue with retooling this team because i wanted to see how far this team go. Nets still needs a Center tho and big man 7'0 tall.i am not helping Miami for them to be a power house in the east.
You know who showed out? Emoni Bates who they could have also drafted smh. But they need Noah Clowney. Not shot creator like Bates.
I can’t believe I’m in a situation where I’m dreaming about getting Tyler Herro haha maybe it’s because I see this roster and I objectively cannot see more than a playin in team. They have a few high end role players and then a bunch young nba fringe players who would badly make the roster of another team.
My too early take… Clowney is already a bust.
Noah Clowney just raw af. He can defend 1-4. A big 5 will will have a field day with him.
