2nd best defender of all time probably behind Bill Russell.

  2. Shorts_Man

People often ask what players from the past would dominate the most today. Here you go.

  3. cityofD

as much as these new centers get hyped and Dream gets overlooked out of the old centers, very few centers ever could do this and score 25 a game

  4. jouh55142139

There is not a single era in the history of basketball where Hakeem doesn’t dominate on either side of the ball

When the shortys walk thru the gym during pe

This clip needs to be shown to every modern day player to let them know what defense looks like

  7. Ok_Tomorrow2110

How oldheads think defense should be played

  8. jumboponcho

One of the only players you can say had no weaknesses

  9. MstrNixx

    He’s really hittenemwitdalatteralmooment

Always my choice for the best center I ever saw. He had speed, passion, skill, poise, desire.

It’s crazy that he got drafted over MJ yet no one is mad about the pick. That’s how special Hakeem was.

Anytime I’ve ever seen interviews of Michael Jordan saying his top starting 5 is, he always say Hakeem. Kenny Smith getting his water helped immensely as well.

God I wish we had it in higher quality

  14. His defensive IQ, vision to cover the ball and to follow where it went. Also his effort to defend. Not many NBA players have this kind of mindset and work attitude.

  15. dys0n_giddey

Only modern player I’ve seen do similar is Gobert.

The Defensive IQ makes a huge difference

look i hate to be pedantic, but he only guarded 4 guys sooo ..

The way he recovers at the end to block the shot is uncanny. Like I wonder what him and Jordan would look like with today’s training and sports science.

Nutty sequence. It’s like watching AD running on Steph’s motor.

As a Mavs fan, I am salivating right now.

Things like this are why people don’t crap on the Rockets for passing Jordan

I almost feel sorry for people who never got to see Hakeem play. He could do it all, offensively and defensively, and would absolutely dominate in any era.

One of my favorite players of all time.

This is why I think anyone who puts Shaq at center over this guy in their all-time starting 5 is crazy.

Prime Hakeem as a freak of nature, he was so unbelievably agile and quick at 6’10” he could stuff literally everything.

His only weakness at this point was his struggle with trusting teammates (Something hes admitted to), part of why the 93-94 seasons are considered better is because Hakeem finally started to trust them.
