  1. Rich, agree on" trade asset". Get this Phoenix also paid the spurs cash for the trade. It was a salary dump for the Suns. Trading Payne is going to save the Suns 26 million in luxury taxes. My guess is they prolly had to pay the Spurs 2 mil for that savings, and the Spurs get a 2nd pick back (no details yet). So, good front office move. I want Barlow back, so would like to see them cut Birch, even necessary waive Devonte Graham. Maybe they waive Lamar

  2. Pop has a history of taking players with a lot of downside and turn it into a strength and making them a valuable asset. IE DeJante Murry! they will also help him get his feet and legs together so he can last.

  3. It's certain ??
So Dame does not come then ??? 😂😂😂

it will boost the competition a bit and will complete the team, but Tre is 23 and stats up, Cameron 28 and stats stagnating + regular injuries… i don't know, wait and see.
just an addition for me, he played more than 50 games 3 season only out of 8….

  4. I think picking up Cameron Payne might Signal the end of the Jeremy Sochan as starting point guard possible scenario. Which brings us back to Keldon Johnson probably being the guy that has to go to the bench. Cam and Jones will most likely split point guard minutes right down the middle. Trade or cut Graham, we just don’t have the need or the roster space for him.

  5. The Voice of Reason. Good stuff. I'm just left asking why. Why bother trading a 2nd round draft pick for another 2nd-round pick plus a 6'1", almost 30 PG with chronic foot/ankle problems? The front office must think that it enlarges their war chest somewhat, but it's hard for little old me to see it. There may be some small benefit to having a veteran to rub off on the existing PG crew in practice for a little while before they trade him off, but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't see any court time with the Spurs before being traded. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see if we keep Tre Jones. I've heard rumor of a possible trade involving him and Keldon to Boston for Malcom Brogdon. So, lots of smoke around the PG position makes me think that Spurs are still looking to find the PG of the future to team up with Wemby.

  6. Spurs going to let him shine?🥸 then trade him.🧐 Spurs have a lot of 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 to trade. GO SPURS GO!!!!!👽👾🤖

  7. I think Tre will still start and Payne comes off the bench. Though in the future, after he improve his shooting, I would want to see Cissoko to play PG either as a starter or a backup.

  8. I could see Cam starting only to build up his worth to be traded at the deadline since his contract is expiring. At only 6 million, if Cam's stock rises enough he could become a nice juicy trading chip. MY OTHER THEORY is that Spurs are accumulating trade pieces to make a move for a decent PG before or role player and have a nontraditional, positionless lineup

  9. I read a comment somewhere saying that he was Speedy Claxton 2023 and I thought that was a pretty good comparison

  10. I think the Spurs want to be a part of one of the blockbuster trades in the works. Stocking up on assets.

  11. I had no idea Cam Payne been in the league for what it was, 10 years? I was happy to have him aboard, but now I do believe he'll be used as a trade piece down the road. My main concern is that we have another big body to co exist with Wemby, other than Collins, and a true Point God!!! I like Tre Jones, but he definitely isn't the answer in a few years when we'll be ready to make a real push to a title!!! I just love my(our) Spurs!!! Spurs4Life baby!!! 😎🤙💯😁💕
