Or, “Simmons” to the more casual fan.

Lot of talk about Scoot and Shae, but personally I’m ready for Ant to take over.

Why do defensive stats paint Simons as one of the worst defenders in the league? Does he struggle because he was forced to defend SGs for large portions of his playing time despite being a PG out of position? If so, did his defense look better when he was allowed to take on the smaller guard as his defensive assignments? Is his bad defensive numbers an endemic issue to who he is as a player, or has it been a product of circumstances and age? Has anyone watched him closely on that end to render any sort of verdict on how much of his offense will be negated by what he gives up on the other end?
(Currently he’s statistically almost a net neutral replacement level player, for all the excellent offense his elite shooting provides due to his sieve like defense.)
